yeah i really cant wait for king of the gypsies writin it this winter aint they woo ;D i wanna see it cos i aint read the book or seen the doc maybe the book is somethin to get pretty soon though yep i think somers town sounds interestin to with andrew shim and thomas turgoose in it i really love the way shane keeps with the actors its so cool xxx

which book have you read King of the Gypsies by Bartley Gorman, et al. or Bare Knuckle Fighter: Memoirs of the Undefeated Fighting Champion of Ireland by Bartley Gorman, et al. i might get it my dad for christmas but i wanna get the best one xxx (i can read it after him its a plan and a half)

so chuffed shane is making film about bartley gorman.who happened to be my cousin.paddy will be perfect for the role he had his accent down perfect because i read that he copied bartleys accent for his role in romeo brass.it was spot on.

It's indeed a shame that he's not still around... :-\ He seemed like a real survivor, not mention a fascinating character and an all-around good guy.
But I think his life story is in pretty good hands as long as Shane and Paddy get to be the ones to dramatize it, since they were lucky enough to get to know him personally -- I have no doubt that they would do right by Bartley.

Wasn't there supposed to be a lot of Bartley Gorman in Paddy's character in Romeo Brass? The voice, the mannerisms, the long-winded tales...?

Yep, the accent and his stories about supernatural stuff were inspired by Bartley.
