Glad you like Kim! Here... it's put me off chocolate, porn mags and vodka though! N. *SPOILERS*Ha ha... 2 fave bits... When he goes 2 the wrestling thing & tells the manager man (?) that he's the 1 who's been ringing him all day & begs him 2 let him get in the ring.. He eventually lets him, saying it's on his own head.. His response.. 'yeah, unless I end up in a wheelchair'!! And earlier when he's leaving his 15th or summat msg & laughs the most geekiest laugh ever.. Proper makes me laugh!!!

Maybe It's because I'm in the US, but the "Dead Man's Shoes" DVD I have doesn't seem to have a 30 min movie called "Northern Soul" Is it a easter egg, or am I just daft?

Should be clear on the extras menu. Maybe its not on the R1 DVD? is it listed on the back of the case? If not its probably not on there mate... shame.

Yeah, I ripped it to the Hard drive and went through bit by bit. Not There! I just have to ask, why, why Lord why?!?!?!?!? I am just devouring anything English, and right now anything Shane Meadows. Certainly something raw and true about his work. I will keep searching. Thanks for the Help.

You can buy the region 2 DVD from amazon.com, you need a multi region DVD player to play it though. It has a much better cover too.

just got round to watching Northern Soul - not sure why cos I've had the DMS DVD for time - enjoyed it immensely....some really funny bits.....the chocolate OD, rubbing the jazz mag, the dancing bit at the end of the training montage....also - that message he leaves for the wrestling promoter is well funny....the way he laughs and says bye at the end....the voice is a piss take of Mark herberts isn't it...? After listening to a couple of commentries this seems to be a popular past-time....
Also, I was amazed to see that the red astra that mark sherbert drives/lives in is my actually my mum's old car....(this is amazing to me only obviously) - the fella we sold it to did tell me he sold it on to shane but still, it was bizarre seeing it on film.......

I finally got to see it this past week, as part of the This Is Shane Meadows boxed set. Funny, funny stuff; but a bit touching, too -- I really liked the Clayhill songs on the soundtrack. I thought Toby sounded like a cross between Le Donk and a young Jerry Lewis!

I showed this my Father in law to try and coax him into the world of 'Clayhill', but he wasn't convinced(with the music).Guess he'll have to stick to being morbid to Leanord Cohen, I prefer to brood to a bit of gavin Clark.
