Garth Merenghi really was genius! Thornton is quite possibly the best characther ever devised, except mabey Lenny from The Simpsons. You can check out some clips here: the-store.co.uk/sdp/savedarkplace/media.htmlI highly HIGHLY recommend the clips "That was funny!" and "One Track Lover". Yours always Sir Simon of Nuneaton "....That and the pussy"

aaah tv conversation, my speciality.
i have an enormous, some would say unhealthy, amount of sitcoms on dvd some of my faves are
british - steptoe and son, porridge, spaced, black books, red dwarf, blackadder. log, the office, father ted, black books etc
american - arrested development, sports night, mash, cheers, taxi, freaks and geeks etc
the one i am waiting for above all else though, the funniest show ever produced is the criminally under-rated "the mighty boosh" - out on dvd later this year around the same time as the second series.
joy.

What about Steve Coogan as Tony Morino? Remember the duet with Gary Wilmot?
The best will always be anything with Rik Mayall, Ade Edmunson and crew.

What about Steve Coogan as Tony Morino? Remember the duet with Gary Wilmot? Ha ha, was that the song, "Fishing For Girls".... not as good as "Bigamy at Christmas". ;D A few weeks ago now, an Alan Partridge movie was given the go ahead I think. Hopefully it doesn't go crap as most TV to film comedy transfers end up. Huge downer on it already though.. is that Armando Iannucci (series co-writer, producer, director) is NOT to be involved whatever happens! Oh dear. He believes the character has run it's course, but wishes Steve (Coogan) the best.

caught an episode of steptoe the other night and totally forgot how funny that shit was. For some reason the old fella in it reminded me of an old morell.

Just thought I would just remind everyone to make sure they hunt out and watch the BBC sitcom 15 Storeys High! ;D The real reason I am posting about it again, is that I just remembered that someone has put together a cool 15 Storeys High website that you should have a peek at. www.15storeyshigh.netThere are quite a few clips on there too, including the exquisite 'macaroni cheese' clip from series one (if you've seen the series, you will know about it's fame amongst fans).

Ah.. always satisfying to know that you've introduced something to people that may have passed them by.
You can buy the first series on DVD, but god luck with the second series, because it looks like it will never be released. The BBC really ruined the programmes chances in all areas... they even flogged the first series to Carlton DVDs. I have nice 'taped from the telly' version of series 2.
I say it's my favourite sitcom ever! Hoorah!
"He looks like Ian Beale"

Mary Whitehouse was from my home town! Claim to fame galoure! Nuneaton has been the home to some legends .... take into consideration Ken Loach, George Elliot, Nigel (The fat guy who owned the video store in eastenders who amazingly cropped up in The Pianist), Pete Doherty (cock but his musics good) and of course Simon Tame. If your confused about the last one, its me. Si ha ha ha ha ..... im a nob.
