it's everything that popcorn cinema should be, absolutely awesome. even clive owen isn't that bad in it.
everyone should read, if they already haven't, 'rebel without a crew' by robert rodriguez. it's a story that hopefully some of us shall emulate.

Clive Owen is good everything .... except King Arthur but a sweetcorn doesnt make shit look better does it?!
In Chancer he was cool personified! As in Croupier. Closer he deserved the oscar over Morgan Freeman who only got one for his other films!

i saw closer the other night and agree that my dismissal of clive owen might have been a bit hasty, he's a talented boy.
patrick marber must be the most envied man in the world. Starting off writing and performing comedy with Coogan, Morris et al. then moving on to writing amazing plays then a hollywood film. BASTARD!
if people liked closer they should read the play, its great.

i loved closer man but it left me feeling a bit, err......dirty, if you know what i mean. I know that was the whole point, to show the realities of moderen relationships and all that but im just an old romantic and still like to believe that there are genuine nice people out there that will love you for who you are. I thought the film was really well done and amazing acting from all involved but i could help been dissapointed from the feelings the film gave me, like a loss of hope or something. Saying all this i am bitter cause my ex who i was in love with cheated on me, is a lesbian and now has a girlfriend.

yeah closer is one of the bleakest stories you can come across but i like the way it refuses to comprimise it's message by sugaring it up too much.
'breaking the waves' is the bleakest film i can think of, i was depressed for days after watching that one....
you should listen to 'pink triangle' by weezer [off pinkerton] it's rather relevant to your ex girlfriend situation.

its quite amazing if you watch chasing amy my situation was almost exactly the same. I also saw breaking the waves completely by accident but it was strong man jesus, i love emily watson and think it was van triers best film to date.
