"Posh lands film role
Victoria Beckham has landed a role in Alan Partridge: The Movie.
Alan Partridge is the fictional radio DJ made famous by Steve Coogan reports ITV.com.
Victoria will play a demanding diva character to be interviewed by Partridge in the movie, a scene which brings the DJ back on air.
A source said: "The scripts for Partridge are obviously under wraps and writing is still in progress, but Victoria's part is pretty much done and dusted.
"She'll be the interviewee that finally allows Alan back on the airwaves with an incendiary chat and her part calls for some serious comic timing. She'll add glamour to the project and prove she's able to take the p**s with the rest of them, it's a brilliant move for her."
The movie is due to be released in 2007."
Hmmmm as a Patridge fan im not so looking forawrd to the film, even more so now.

Could work, but highly unlikely. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt at the moment.
Just sounds like the type of thing that could have worked as a Comic Relief sketch or something.
The other main factor that is making me fear the film, is that Armando Iannucci isn't going to be involved. I always find his work great, so I have presumed that he lends alot of his greatness to the writing of Partridge (he's been there from the beginning). In fact, who is writing the film? Steve Coogan for sure... hopefully Peter Baynham is still onboard. I can't imagine that Patrick Marber will go back to writing Partridge stuff.

Hmmm I'm not so sure, I'm with Dave on this one. Without Armando Iannucci on board it could be shit - he's definitely one of the most neglected comedy writers around. He co-wrote The Day Today with Morris as well as Knowing Me Knowing You (1994 was definitely a top year for telly). Does anyone remember his 2001 series 'The Armando Iannucci Shows'? I was watching some episodes I taped; fucking funny, like a much more down to earth version of Blue Jam. His 2004: The Stupid Version spoof documentary was the highlight of last year's TV too. If Coogan gets his head down it should be pretty decent though, but I've still got memories of Dr Terrible's House Of Horrible... and as for Posh - she should stick to keeping tabs on her nanny-banging old fella.

About a week too late, but: Steve Coogan and Courtney Love?? What was he thinking?
Hopefully she won't turn up in the Partridge film as I find here quite unsettling to look at!
Back to Armando Iannucci.... I also re-watched the Armando Iannucci shows recently, and they are indeed fantastic. "He's getting it from the pie! It's all in the pie!"
He really should be given more TV air time! He is consistently good... whereas I feel that Chris Morris has gone off the boil somewhat over the last few years. Nathan Barley anyone? Had it's moments, but was really one for the die-hard Morris fans (although it was co-written by Charlie Brooker too).

Nathan Barley also had the guy from Garth Merenghi in! I didn't like it either!
Also Courtney Love is quite attractive in "The People VS. Larry Flynnt"

The Armando Iannucci Shows were brilliant and definitely deserved more exposure. I'd love to see a DVD come out but don't think it'll ever happen. Fucking sad really, when you consider that shite like Two Pints Of Lager gets half a dozen series even though it's blatantly a big pile of jobbies. Agreed, Dave - Nathan Barley was painful at times. I remember watching it and thinking, "This is Morris? The same geezer who made the Brass Eye Paedophile programme?" Now THAT was the stuff of legends. He's definitely fallen by the wayside the last few years. Oh well. As for Courtney Love being knocked up with Coogan's sprog - well what can I say except 'back of the net!'
