I really liked this film, very gripping stuff.
Possible Oscar noms for Matt Dillion or Terrence Howard.
What you think of it? I know Dave didn't like it.........

What you think of it? I know Dave didn't like it......... Ha ha.. no need to tell everyone! Well here's me sticking my oar in: I thought it was amazingly heavy-handed. It was kind of like Short Cuts but with racism as the catalyst for the films wide array of dubious coincidences. To me, it really felt like someone had decided "Right! I'm going to make a right clever film me.. watch this!".. but the finished film felt like it was trying too hard to be clever, and then actually turned out to be not that clever at all. In a better film, some of the outrageous coincidences would have made one think "Oh.. that was clever.. I didn't see that was coming"... But in Crash, the whole 'trying to be clever' vibe kept annoying me, so when these coincidences occured i was thinking more along the lines of "Oh, for crying out loud!" Oh, and don't talk to me about invisible bullet proof cloaks! It makes me sick! (and I'm not talking about Harry Potter here, I'm still talking about Crash! hehe).

I think you have a point dave as i found the film to be very pretencious and a bit forced but i still enjoyed it all the same. The thing is i feel a bit conned into liking it cause of the heavy handed tricks they used for dramatic effects, i.e. the fucking cloak bit, saying this i did sit there mouth open for 2 mins but i was drunk. Overall it is a good film compared to all the other shit been piled out but i think it just tries too hard.

You do know "all" about the cloak scene didn't you? Yes ;D... it was the sickly American stylings of all that business that made me feel queasy.
