Just wanted to give everybody a heads up to go and watch the Australian film Look Both Ways whenever it is released over there. There have been a few Aussie movies lately. Little Fish I found very over-rated (starring Cate Blanchett) and disappointing, but The Proposition (written by Nick Cave and starring Guy Pearce, Ray Winstone and John Hurt among others) is definitely worth a look, although I found it rather violent.
Got to log off; big fat sub-tropical storm coming in...

Hey Mandy, I'll look out for that. Just wondering, have you seen/heard of an Aussie flick called 'Wolf Creek?' My buddy Ross is on the soundtrack, and he says it's a great film, but I haven't seen it yet.

Personally I didn't think much to Wolf Creek. As I am studying Criminology I am always interested to see films that are based on true events like this one. I thought this film was pointless, drawn out and boring. I am all for independant films but this film was just like every other main stream horror/thriller type. However this is just my opinion, other people may have liked it. Has anyone seen a film called "Switchblade Romance"? x

MissDonk, I haven't seen it yet, they haven't even talked about it yet here in Canada. The only reason I ask is because I know someone who contributed to the soundtrack, and he's been watching the reviews and ratings like a hawk...Apparently it's doing quite well

I am ashamed to say that I haven't seen Wolf Creek yet, although it has done well as far as I know, and I think it's fairly low-budget.

Yeah I think the ratings for it have been quite high and it is a low budget independant film. But for me it was nothing new.

I think i'm going t see it, regardless of what people are saying. Half the people who have seen it (that I've spoken to) love it, and the other half hate it. It's difficult living up here, because most of the Brit/Aussie/ European films don't see the light of day in Canada, so I have to wait until I can order them online. I'm lightyears behind you all!

Wolf Creek was a disappointment. That first half hour or however long it was, I think was ostensibly to get the audience familiar with the characters - and thus more sympathetic towards them when they hit the fan. The problem was the characters were boring, vapid, trend-following tarts. And I was actually glad they suffered. Even after the horror sets in, there's very little of substance. It's a commendable effort, but definitely not worthy of the hype and suchlike... The only reason it got such wide distribution was the link to timely real-life subjects.
