i haven't seen millions yet is it worth my time? Millions is a very well directed film and the kids who play the brothers are fine little actors but it’s a little bit too sentimental for my liking.

cheers ryD22, zemanovaload is a little britcom about an ocd sufferer who becomes obsessed with veronika zemanova i watched cos i will literally watch any film if it's british (offending angels anybody?) and because my mate made me he's obsessed with her too, ed byrne stars and his nasal voice annoys and the ending is one of those endings you write when you don't know how to end something. By the way i really love a life less ordinary it's an overlooked gem just checking boyle out on imdb i saw him credited with a film called strumpet (2001) i've never heard of it anyone fill me in on it?

Last night I watched Hannibal Brooks and Paradise Now…
Hannibal Brooks is that rare beast – a descent Michael Winner film and stars Oliver Reed as a British POW in World War II that volunteers to look after an elephant in the Munich Zoo. The zoo gets bombed and Brooks decides to escape… with the elephant, into Switzerland. It’s a cracking film, with Reed on top form.
Paradise Now is the Oscar-nominated Palestinian film that details to lads that are selected to journey to Tel Aviv as suicide bombers. It’s a stirring film and one that doesn’t sensationalise the subject matter. Definitely worth watching.

hannibal brooks, i love that film i hadn't realised it was a micheal winner film, thats another of my prejudices i'll have to address i'd completely written him off You can't write Winner off completely, mate. He did another cracking film with Ollie Reed, I'll Never Forget What's 'Is Name the year after Hannibal Brooks. I think it’s easy to see how Michael Winner’s career went off the rails – he’d started well (The System, Hannibal Brooks, etc) and found himself making a lot of big, star-driven films in the seventies, with the likes of Marlon Brando and Charles Bronson – for the most part, the films were entertaining at best, but never rose above formulaic. As soon as he made the decision to take the money with the bigger films, it would lead to his undoing. If filmmakers decide to make a film based purely on the exposure it gets from the star, everything else suffers. I think it’s quite acceptable to do a couple, there’s nothing wrong with upping your profile – but if you make a succession of bland films, with the studios and stars telling you you’re an artist just because the film is making money, it’s a recipe for disaster. Eventually of course, your films stop making money AND you no longer have artistic integrity – which is pretty much where Mr Winner can be found now. It boggles the mind that the man that directed a films that’s almost as good as any other film in the cycle of Swinging Sixties films set in London (I’ll Never Forget What’s ‘Is Name) could end up dressed as a fairy in a car insurance advert. It’s a strange world… ;D

I saw it only recently and apart from Keanu Reeves I thought it was a very very good film.

ok companero holster your pistolas mate i'll take your advice and check out i'll never forget what's is name. i thought oliver reed was brilliant, i'm a sucker for drunks who never reached there full potential the glimpses of their genius you see fascinate, excite and infuriate me in equal measure. did you ever see him doing press ups with his feet off the ground whilst completely smashed on the aspel show

Watched Broken Flowers, really good another great low key film from Jim Jarmusch. Bill Murray is superb it is a pretty slow moving film and does have a very unneeded scene of full frontal nudity (thankfully not from Murray) but anyone who likes Jim Jarmusch movies or films that move at a leisurely pace will enjoy it. I'd give it 4/5

I liked Broken Flowers too. I'm a big Jarmusch fan. Despite using actors idenitified with and stylisically moving closer to the mainstream than usual, he still managed to put his touch on the film.
And no-one acts with their face like Bill Murray can.

Watched the Hills Have Eyes remake this afternoon and as a fan of the original and a hater of remakes I've got to say It was FUCKING EXCELLENT ;D Some great moments of tension and a LOT more violent than Wes Cravens version, the title sequence alone gave me the jitters The same Director also made Switchblade Romance (Haute Tension) he could be one to keep an eye on. Recommended!
