I really loved Switchblade romance, although I was (and still am) dissapointed and slightly confused by the 'twist' which i felt there was no need for. On the other hand ive been told that 'the hills have eyes' is really dissapointing. Im still gonna go watch it though.

I too have just returned from seeing The Hills Have Eyes remake, and I thought it was pretty good stuff. I have not seen the original, which was probably a good thing because I knew little of the story. It really had the feel of 70's horror... none of the current glossy horror we keep getting so much of. It was no nonsense horror at it's (near) best. It was good to see Rubber Johnny making a cameo ( one for the Chris Cunningham fans there).

Recently watched Palindromes from Todd Solondz fucking awful. His first film Welcome to the Dollhouse is brilliant. Happiness and Storytelling both good, but this was just awful. And just watched A History of Violence. quite good, and they don't shirk on the violence part, some pretty graphic moments.

I hated both Pallindromes and Welcome To The Dollhouse, I found them both to be a waste of time and 3.75 for rental money. If i had know it was the same director I wouldnt of rented the other.

Ah Si we disagree again, I thought Wellcome To The Dollshouse was absolute genuis although his other works just a bit too sick for me.
Watched Rushmore again the other day, blown away again, probably my favourite Anderson film

I too watched Palindromes the other week and thought it was bollocks. Loved Happiness though! Apparently Todd Solondz is challeging people to think about character perception and how you relate to different actors playing the same part. All I could think about was how much alcohol I was gonna drink on the forthcoming weekend.
Thats the good thing about working in Global Video though, I can watch as much as I want for free!!

I liked Palindromes, though not as much as Dollhouse and Happiness.

Those who liked the remake of 'The Hills Have Eyes' should check out 'The Devil's Rejects'. It's got Ken Foree in it and that information alone should be enough to send any true horror freak/geek into a spasmoidic attack.

I've seen Devils Rejects, that is one nasty film Rob Zombies House Of 1000 Corpses (the film that rejects follows on from) was okay but a bit of a mish mash of influences Rejects is straight up grind house 70's dirty horror, some of was a bit too twisted for my tastes though.
Watched The Tall Guy, I think it was the first Richard Curtis written Working Titles film before Four Weddings. Anyway it was okay quite funny and entertaining seeing Jeff Goldblum as the Elephant Man (there is a Elephant Man musical in it) being stopped by the police was hilarious, the sex scene was very funny too although I was shocked to see Emma Thompson’s boobies it's just wrong hehe. I see Mel Smith directed it I don’t think he has bettered it with the likes of Bean and High Heels and Low Life’s.

I have the documentary 'Dark Days' to watch over the weekend, anyone seen it? I don't know what to expect of it. I've not seen it, mate - it's the one that focuses on a group of homeless guys, right? It had great reviews across the board when it was released three or four years ago.
