Anyone up for starting a new World Cup thread?
I'm curious to know..
1/. At what point will England go out? 2/. Who will they lose to and by how much? 3/. Who will reach the final and who will ultimately win?
Despite the loss of Rio today I see a fairly easy route to the QF stage but then defeat by France at that point, although I doubt it'll go to penalties in that game.
I'd love to be wrong, of course.

Gotta disagree Rich. There is a very strong chance we will go out at the first knock-out stage. Serbia and Germany both have what it takes to overcome England. You would hope we can push for the Semi's.. and as a betting man I'd go for that.. but wouldn't see it as a surprise if The Germans or Serbs put us to the sword. Serbia can be such a force if they get their game on. Superb in Qualifying.. beat France.. and must be the most unestimated team in international football. I will say now that Spain to win and David Villa to finish top scorer is surely a lot of peoples first choice. (12/1 Laddie's price btw.. I've condidered a cheeky £20 on it) The bets I have actually placed are as follows.. *Argentina vs Spain to be the final. *Holland to win it. *Tevez to win Golden Boot.

I'm heartbroken. Why oh why oh why? Since Italia 90 we've had teams good enough to go all the way. Maybe, just maybe this team could have gone further, but fail at the first stage of the knock outs.
Seriously, what's going on? The disallowed goal was a travesty, but that's no excuse. Is there some really deep psychological sh*te here?
PS: I'm very, very drunk.

From what I saw, England didn't deserve to get anywhere in the World Cup. They were mostly shite.
Relying on luck seemed to have been our only hope. Lame.

You would hope we can push for the Semi's.. and as a betting man I'd go for that.. but wouldn't see it as a surprise if The Germans or Serbs put us to the sword. . Well, well.. The one thing I will say, is despite playing v. well and staying faithful to their tactical approach.. the Germans are definatly beatable. We all have opinions on what we could have done different, and why things have panned the way they have.. Personally I'm going to put some blame on our stale and predictable formation, especially when the majority of our lads club sides opt for the modern day threat of 4-3-3/4-5-1 style.. and I think German were able to contain us to a degree because of that, just as the three teams in the group could. Though still not an excuse for looking that piss poor. You have to get a goal from the off in knockout football, otherwise you will concede a fuck load more when running the risk of throwing men forward. This maybe responsible for the tournament being dull as a whole this year, North Korea's bold offensive antics slapping them in the face against Portugal, being a prime example of what can happen. Hence constant counter-attacking football and often to not much avail. Best England Player of the tournament - David James probably pips Gerrard. Worst England Player of the tournament - I'm going to highlight Gareth Barry's shocking mistakes that constantly kept us on the backfoot at times.. so him. Rooney by his standards wasn't good, and poor Rob Green. --- Oh, and the main thing I've took from the full time whistle in Bloumfontain this afternoon.. ..NFFC till I fucking Die! World cup feelings end- Really excited for the new season now.

Davros mate Sven is a decent manager and although he wasn't supposed to be Notts County's manager our promotion last season owed a lot to Sven he's well respected by all at Meadow Lane. Hope he does well for you and if you can give the "Forest Tossers" a good thrashing i'll be a happy man.

Still cant quite wrap my head around this... Sven, Leicester, Sven... Leicester? Heres my take on it.. Wooohaahah. Davros mate Sven is a decent manager and although he wasn't supposed to be Notts County's manager our promotion last season owed a lot to Sven he's well respected by all at Meadow Lane. You'll change your tune if these rumours are true! He's gonna raid your dressing room pal.. you can kiss the likes of Ben Davies and Lee Hughes goodbye.. But hey, at least you'll finally have a chance to finish a game with 11 men! You guys are just bringing a 'dirty' reputation to this city..

Haha. Well, Sven can bring who he wants...... apart from Lee Hughes. To be honest though, it must be a sign the new owners have a bit of cash to spend, Sven doesnt come cheap eh Clifton.
