Still waiting on mine, but I've already got a copy that I bought early on in the year (I'm impatient). You won't be disappointed with the story, trust me! The yanks have started to get theirs though... check out this pic... Apparently he's pretty chuffed with his 'ever expanding fanbase' across the pond I saw you on his MySpace, Hyde... that gasmask must be world famous by now!

That's a good one. Welsh really nails the way one phone call from the right person can suddenly make the current that flows through your world change direction.
Fuck me, he was a shit-hot writer back then.
'STEVIE! MOAN THROUGH YA C*NT!' ;D

Haha! I lol'd! The book is so realistic eh, what she says on the phone is exactly what anyone in love wants to hear. Made me smile When Rents is having to make the tripto see Forrester for that last hit, thats powerful stuff! I hope I never ever feel like that. I honestly dont think I've ever enjoyed a book like I am with Trainspotting. Welsh really does nail it with the writing.

The chapters written as Begbie always stick in my mind. Everyone's got a mate like that - you're always on egg shells whenever you're near him! There's one quote I remember, when he's on a train with Rents bound for London...
The posey cunt's even goat that fuckin green basebaw cap oan. That's goan oot the fuckin windae if the cunt fuckin faws asleep, ah can fuckin tell ye.

To everyone that put their name down for it: your signed copy of Dermaphoria should turn up within the week or so. They've all been sent out now.
Let me know what you all think once you get into it. The Shane Meadows forum Craig Clevenger book club! ;D

Well I hope not..... lol....
Having a bit of readers block from lack of sleep, like when I did attempt it I was tired as hell and it just happened to be the chapter Renton goes on about "choose life" and I was like..... my head nearly exploded haha.
I'll get back to it soon though.

Reading Christopher Priest's The Prestige at the moment, been on the amazon wishlist for ages, the Mrs bought me it a few days ago as a surprise and I'm halfway through it at the minute. It's a cracking read, the story of an intense rivalry between two victorian magicians, the film is out next month and reading the novel is making me even more eager to see it once it's released. I mean Chris Nolan (Memento, Batman Begins) is the Writer/ Director and it star's Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Michael Caine and David Bowie! How can that be bad?

Yeah, I saw the trailer for that not long ago, looks top bollock. There was a lot of rumours on IMDb that the film is actually the sequel to Batman Begins, and The Prestige is just a cover to keep the press off the scent! Nolan and Bale make a good team. Maybe they can be the next Shane and Paddy

Hyde, try & take a look at "The Acid House" when you get through Trainspotting. Three short stories but all superb, very much in the Trainspotting style. In fact the dvd is also very good as it keeps pretty much word for word to the stories. I've just got a copy of "Only Anarchists Are Pretty" a novel about the early days of the Sex Pistols. What is intriguing for me is that I used to be in a band with the author about 16 years ago......... in Accrington!!! Perhaps I should read it first but the phrase poetic licence springs to mind
