Hi Shane, Matt Bonsall here........you wont remeber me but I was in your year at school at Alleynes and Oldfields and just wanted to say Bloody Brillaint"!!!! I watched '24/7' at the Green Lane cinema in Derby, 'Once Upon a Times in the Midlands' at the Printworks in Manchester and have just bought the DVD's 'A Room for Romeo Brass' and 'Dead Mans Shoes' from Amazon online. I really enjoyed all of them, you are doing great work.......I especially like the scene at Oldfields school with Mr Blant, the music teacher playing the piano....great days, good memories of drama class with Mr. Laws and the impromtu one handed boxing in his classroom during lunch. Was it you and Will Shepherd that used to go at it?? Also just heard that my secretary attended an Oscars Night at her sons school in Burton at which Paddy was presenting the 'Oscars'. Hope you are well mate and good luck for future projects.....looking forward to seeing them. Take care, Matt.

Hiya Matt, I remember you well. Did you live in marchington? I remember those one armed boxing matches like they were yesterday, i used to pretend I didn't mind having the left glove (I'm left handed of course), I remember 'Dogsy' (r.i.p.) and Shane Davis having a proper ding dong one lunchtime. My arch rival I think you'll find was Nick Clouston. I may have had an exibition bout with Will Sheperd but I'm not sure. Great days (if you like that sought of stuff!). Thanks for following my career M8! Take Care. Shady.

Yeah, Marchington...that's right!! I also remember 'dogsy' challenging Mr. Wylie with one of those wrist strenthener things (looks like jump lead handle) in the playground. No surprise that he outlasted him by minutes....he was a big fella!! Nick Clouston eh?? isn't that like Mike Tyson vs Naseem Hamed. How are plans coming along for the Bartley Gorman film? That would be fantastic!!! Just bought his book 'King of the Gypsies'. Also just bought the sound track to DMS...it's awesome!! Good to hear from you. Matt

We were the same weight at school! I just had big stupid shoulders on a featherweights torso.
