I am new to this site so pardon me if this is a repeat.
I heard about a film that is focused on a failed drummer that gets a social worker job on a council estate and gets no respect and ends up dressing up like a superhero to earn respect at night instead of day
?

Not "This Is England" but it sounds like a future project.

I think, (but don't believe everything you read) that the original concept/idea that turned into Dead Man's Shoes was something like that.
Like I say.... I think.

Sounds like you have a couple of things mixed together there.
The whole of what you said may have been the early ideas for what later became Dead Man's Shoes, because the whole 'super-hero' part is kind of what it was going to be about (albeit a bit of a crap one, with home made costume and trampolines, etc).
The bit about an ex-drummer having to go work on a council estate sounds like the early ideas for the possible forthcoming 'Sweet Maria' project.

We can put you to the test. ;D Of course the more I know about Shane and his works, the more of a complete raving stalker I look! It's all just a by-product of the research I put in when making this site. I was always a Shane Meadows fan of course, but when I set out to make this site, I unearthed all manner of info I didn't previously know about. It seems that most of it has remained lodged in my head.
