I had one eye on the movie and one on my mates face all the way through and I can't decide which was more entertaining!

I watched Crank 2 again last night round my mates (he lliked G.I Joe!) needless to say the look of bewilderment on his face all the way through was priceless. There were quite a few bits I hadn't noticed first time round, like where the old lady says about Chelios being the double of the guy out the Trainspotter movies (haha). I really liked it first time round, loved it the second!

Watchmen.. I have never read the graphic novels and wasn't expecting to like it much after all the talk of it being unfilmable I thought it would probably be a bit of a mess. A nice surprise, I thought the visual element of the film was great (esp credits sequence at the start) and a nice change from the marvel stuff. To be honest I think I preferred it to The Dark Knight, its the ears on Batman I just can't take him seriously.

just one track 'Host of the Seraphim' by Dead can't dance, can't stop listening to it. It was used for the final scene in 'The Mist' wonderfully powerful piece of music.

Once upon a time in the West, fantastic to look at, the print made it look like it was made yesterday, great score too. On the downside I thought the narrative was lacking, cinematography and style can only go so far. Glad I finally saw it though, I was certainly entertained.
*edit* I have to admit the movie has been popping in my head all day if nothing else its very memorable, which you can't say for a lot of movies nowadays. I fancy watching it again already.

A couple of Sidney Lumet movies 'Network' and 'Prince of the City' both very good especially Network some great performances. He is definitely a director who seems to care more about his actors than what the camera is doing, which can occasionally make the films feel a little tv-ish. It makes a nice change though from the Bay,Scott,Greengrass tourettes style of filmaking.

The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3, tense, exciting and very funny. Obviously Im talking about the 1974 version, if nothing else the remake made me check out this (haven't seen it by the way). Walter Matthau was fantastic in it, I was expecting it to be fairly run of the mill given the amount of movies that have borrowed a similar scenario since but it made for a great couple of hours of entertainment, as for the end almost on a par with The Italian Job. I don't need to see the remake to know it won't come anywhere close to this. Great Movie!

'Two hands' a sort of Aussie 'lock, stock and two smoking barrels' with Heath Ledger in an early lead role and Bryan Brown. Not bad at all some good humour and possibly the funniest bank raid ever put on film, a bit rough round the edges but not too shabby.

Yes i was expecting it to be more comedy horror than it was, but it didn't dissappoint, just a rollicking good horror with it's tongue firmly stuck in its cheek.
Decent horror from the U.S is few and far between nowdays but I thought the Last House on the Left remake was surprisingly good too.
Just watched 'Frailty' directorial debut from Bill Paxton who also stars along with Matthew McConaghy and suprisingly good given the laters normal choice in roles. Paxton's character believes he is visited by an Angel who instructs him that he must destroy seven demons. What follows is a disturbing drama as Paxtons descent into insanity involves enlisting his two young sons in helping him murder (or destroy as he believes) the seven supposed demons/humans god has selected. Well worth a look.

Agreed wholeheartedly with the point above. Comedy for morons. The Street has been OK (though some episodes have stood out above others - the Anna Friel one I thought was great). There's something iffy about the Street. Good ideas poorly executed perhaps? Not very realistic perhaps. I'm not sure? Jimmy McGovern makes half decent TV but there's always something stupid/daft/obvious in there that spoils it for me. i've watched all 3 of the new episodes and whilst they were worth a watch there was something 'not right' wi' em. The first one was the worst and the only reason I watched was old Bob was in it so thought it worth a gander. I have enjoyed The Street on the couple of occassions I have caught it, but Jimmy Mcgovern has done some quality stuff over the years. Especially the first series of The Lakes with John Simm, the second was great too but had a number of writers on it and did get a little silly, one of the best dramas on the bbc in recent(ish) years though.

'Drag me to hell', definitely more horror-comedy than comedy-horror if you know what I mean. Felt like watching a live action ghost train but what a ride! Raimi has certainly perfected the art of making you jump even though you know the scare is about to come. Best of the summer movies thus far for me.
