^ awesome, am seeing him tomorrow so hope for the same. I can imagine no too gigs would be the same with this band! but all AMAZING!!! aw it was by far the best gig i've ever been to, amazing set list (if youre familiar with all there albums which there is a lot) I didnt want them to ever stop playing, even after two encores!!!! I've never been so involved in a gig and I was in the balcony! centre at the front though (worth the hour queing) the music was amazing, the band amazing, just so much fun. Nick Cave was brilliant his response to the audiance shouting MERCY SEAT "Mercy Seat, fucking mercy seat, I try to sleep and all I hear is MERCY SEAT!" and just generally rocking out on stage, Warren Ellis was brilliant too. I wont give anything away about the set list, just that its amazing.

The Weakerthans @ Brum Barfly - I refuse to believe that no-one else on here is into them. Unless I'm wrong? I truly hope I am. I urge anyone who loves any type of music to check them out.
They were butterfly-inducingly wonderful.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease someone listen to them;

I downloaded a few tracks by them some time ago after your recommendation Sherbert. Quite liked them, but not 'knocked out' sorry to say. I'll put them on my MP3 player and listen again tomorrow when I'm out on my bike........odd, but this is the only way I can really hear the lyrics, which is, I suspect, a strength of this band.

Get an entire album, that's the best way to appreciate them. Some of the songs make more sense in the context of their albums.

Saw Ministry on Thursday my ears are still ringing and got bruised ribs and arms after a visit to the pit.
