I sort of wanted to put irreversible in there but I find it hard to explain why I (should) like it.

I know what you mean mate. I find myself telling people to watch it and how amazing it is, then they ask what it's about. Then I'm like "erm.. a guy smashes another guy's head in with a fire extinguisher in a gay S&M club because he raped his girlfriend..........." then I kind if trail off into a mumble as I register the look on the face of the person I'm speaking to; a look that suggests that I could possibly be stood before them in full Nazi regalia punching kids in the face.
It seems wrong somehow to say you 'like' it. I suppose it is more accurate to say that you were profoundly affected by it.

My three favourites, the three that I keep coming back to are: TOKYO DRIFTER by Suzuki Seijun, The hippest pop art film ever made, insane use of colour, strange people and places and some of the best chapter titles ever, my favourite being. "Powder blue suit of honour." LA HAINE Matthieu Kassovitz's classic about life in the Paris ghetto's, awesome performances with an ending that literally blows you away. POinT BLANK Lee Marvin at his brilliant best in this take no shit from anybody role. There are literally hundreds that I could have picked but these are the ones that left me stunned the first time I saw them and can still have that effect on me today.
