Always thought that TIE would play beautifully against Oasis's "Half the World Away" so I edited a MMV together for it. I'm really pleased with how it turned out to be honest. Think it goes quite nicely with it.
Do tell me what you think!
(Debated whether this should be posted in the filmmakers section or TIE section-but I decided here due to previous fan art being posted. Apologies if this belongs somewhere else!)

Thought I'd share with you another short I've made. It's a peice exploring the effects of cyber bullying and how it can be equal to that of physical violence. Made it with a couple of youngsters from my school.
I also thought it would be even more relevant to share on here seeing as I used "Berlin Song" by Ludovico Einaudi, featured in Ep 2 of This is England '86. I was greatly inspired by it's use and I thought it would work great with the short-and I think it does! Enjoy and do comment.

Holy fuck! Yes, this makes a lot of sense. I thought you'd do this. It seemed a bit too soon to jump into another series if you ask me. A Christmas special would propell the popularity of it even further-and would be a great indication as to how how the reputation of TIE has survived one year on. I think that's why a lot of second series fail a bit....you don't want to have too much of a good thing just yet. Plus, we need the cast to age a bit too if it's four years later! I can't bloody wait!

I've applied to The Arts University College of Bournemouth (Film Production- thats my first choice-got an interview for that in March) as well as Bournemouth University (Film Production and Cinematography-interview next month) New Buckinghimshire (film and tv production-conditional offer) and Winchester University (just a back-up tbh). As you've noticed there all out of London but just within arms reach. I felt that although London is obviously the hot spot for film...uni would be three years and seeing as I've lived in London my whole life so it would be great to get out of there and see a bit more of England, as well meet new people and do the whole independent thing. What I see happening to me is that I'll end up specialising in film editing during my third year, as I see that as a great entry into the industry in terms of both networking and finance. I've also edited since I was 12 so it's something that's important to me, but at the same time something I want to eventually morph into directing (so editing and directing) which I get huge delight out of. Gives me a bit of buzz. All I know is that I want to try my hand at everything-get a true manual respect for everyones job on set so I don't feel awkward or apprehensive when directing them. But yeah, it'll be a very interesting three years if I get in.

woah, what an awesome comment! cheers mate. I agree 100% with the production design issues. The blue chairs make me cringe to this day!
With the showreel, ironically the univerisites I have to present it to require a 5 Minute showreel..meaning I would have to extend it just a bit regardless. But as a showreel itself it would of course have to be shorter. Will look into those DVD's...cheers mate!

hehe, just wanted to play around with those white balance settings. it was more down to how we shot it in March, right after classes finished-so at 3:45pm we really didn't have the darkness we required...especially with that huge gaping ceiling window in the middle of the corridor!

cheers! I do agree with the "Wake Up" writing being a bit out of place but it was merely to let the whole film come circle in the most subtle way possible, linking the ending with the begining ect. thanks for watching!

I know, yet another desperate minion searching for ARFRB tune titles. What I'm looking for however is nowhere to be found on the actual soundtrack release. It's a very nice aucoustic piece reprised twice (or more) in the film, and from what I recall plays after Romeos confrontation with his Dad, playing over a montage featuring Romeo's mum sitting on his bed as he sleeps. I found it really quite moving. Any one aware of the title?

This is a short horror I made with my mates last year for my AS Film Studies Coursework. Thought I would share it on here to spread it around a bit. Would love to hear your thoughts and stuff. Enjoy.
If your also interested, I just finished my first ever showreel which I'll be presenting to my uni's of choice in a few months. It plays more like a music video to be honest...I'm thinking of re-opening the edit and extending the snippets a bit in order to show a bit more narrative rather then just cutting to music. Again, your comments are also appreciated heavily!

Hello all! Finally glad to have joined the ranks of meadow fans. I'm in love with This is England, TIE'86, and A Room For Romeo Brass...hope to proudly own them all on DVD soon. What to know about me? I'm an aspiring film editor/director, and I'm currently going through an obsession with Andrew Shim (Milky/Romeo). I just love him. He's beyond amazing. A hand shake and a hug would be the best thing ever.
Anyway....pleasure to finally be a member, and here's to many more years of fantastic short films, features and TV Mini-Series from the legendary Shane Meadows and his cast & crew.
All the best!
