I got a load of Yo La Tengo stuff, after hearing them on Peel yonks back and always meaning to investigate further. I like a lot.
Also
Avail - Very cool leftist melodic hardcore which touches on country very occaisonally.
Rilo Kiley - Lovely female fronted indie poppy stuff.
Zolof The Rock N Roll Destroyer - Melodic indie pop punk that gives me butterflies. I URGE everyone to d******d a track by them called 'Plays Pretty For Baby'. DO IT NOW.

Cheers for the pointer. My recommendation for a cheeky d******d is Back To School by Jim Bob. Don't tell the piracy rozzers...

Mark, really liked Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer-thanks. Am I the only person on site that likes Camera Obscura? Not exactly alike, but similar-lively/jangly Indie stuff-try If Looks Could Kill and Lloyd I'm Ready to be Heartbroken and tell me what ya think? Jill

An album named "Burlesque" by Bellowhead - amazing folk songs with a kick-ass twist. "Dimanche a Bamako" by Amadou & Mariam, a blind duo from Mali. Inspiring.
Cultured bunch on here aren't we?

Just to counteract the high-brow musical leanings of Mr Knight... I have to confess to recently getting really into Slipknot's last album, The Subliminal Verses. I think I must have reached an age where I no longer give a hoot about admitting such 'embarrassing' musical ventures! ;D

Dave I actually went to a slipknot signing they where cool in the uh.. flesh/plastic? and I did used to be a bit of a big fan.. was years ago.. but I think they made some respectable music, there first album is rated highly by me to this day. Yeah... I got the first album back when it came out and enjoyed it back then, but I lost interest in them when the second album came out 'Iowa'.... but I think that might have been because that System of a Down album 'Toxicity' came out at the same time, and was so much more fun and original sounding. But first Slipknot album is a good 'un... and you can't go wrong with the fun video to 'Spit It Out' which homages The Shining.

Yeah see I still think Iowa is good though... it was just the whole kerrang music channel thing ruined both songs that had video's by playing them over and over I think there music is good though.
Do you like Rammstein Dave?
