I finished writing my first ever feature script today ;D
I'm pretty ecstatic to be honest. I have started many a feature script and never finished one but since my arguement with Paddy I've been inspired.
I started writing last Wednesday and Finished about an hour ago.
The story is fairly unfilmable on a lowish budget but the hurdle of writing a feature is one I have been trying to get over for such a long time.
It's a Scottish, Love, Comedy, Crime Caper, Fantasy film called PENRITH
Does it work? I dunno, to me it reads well and makes sense but its very different to anything I have ever done.
I'm proud of it and I think that's what matters.
If you wanna read it, I would love some honest thoughts.
Cheers
A very happy Salvador.....

Congratulations.....
...good advice might be to hide it in a drawer for a week, then read it again when you have a bit of distance between the finished script and the writing period.
How many pages may I ask?

Yeah, cheers Dave.
I'm going to do that. I've read through it, made corrections etc. I will distance myself from it, I'm just rather a impatient, impulsive person, so wanted to post.
Its 95 pages

You know what they say..... every page equates to about a quid in box office takings. Start planning that 95 pound spending spree now!

It's the characters name.... Penrith Davidson
I needed a name I thought was unique, plus its a little homage to Withnail and I and the reason he is called Penrith is explained in the script....
... No Uncle Monty in there unfortunately (for all you Withnail fans)

hi salvador, i'll give your script a read through if you like, not good at critique but will give you some honest feedback!
i've managed three full feature screenplays up to now, one will be going into production in a couple of months, a version of tash force

Cheers guys,
I'm going to have that cool off time for a week or so and then read it through, make any changes etc.
After that I'll send it out to yous.
Wiggy, honest feedback would be great. I think its good to get people to critique it but I also think its good to get people's general thoughts on whether they like the story or not. So cheers.

Hey salvador, make damn sure that you copyright the script before you give it to anybody to read, either with BECTU or the UK Copyright service, advisable to look for international copyright it'll cost you 30/40 quid. Then you can send it to people with without worrying about it. Stealing from people happens a lot in this game.

I honestly don't think that's a problem. I mean if you are scared of people "stealing" your ideas then I think that is a personal fear and not an inherent attribute of the "business". People are too busy with their own ideas and 9 times out of 10 will think your idea is rubbish. So why steal it.
I think its a costly fear to be scared of people stealing your ideas. Maybe I'm too trusting but I'm not thinking at this stage thats an issue.
Maybe I'm wrong but personally I dont think I am.
