I thought what Nick acheived on the football factory for the £400k was pretty remarkable in terms of scale. Gang fights, tons of locations and character etc takes it's toll on the budget and time. So on that front, they really did get amazing value for money. On an emotional level, I think the film had the chance to be a bit more responsible with it's ending and show someone choosing to step away from the violence rather than saying fuck it and jumping back in with both feet, would have made a big difference to how the film was perceived. Well I didn't know he did it on a very small budget, so in that sense he's done okay with limited funds in terms of the above you mention. BUT having dabbled in the films subject and knowing the scene well it's a poor effort. Doesn't do it justice really and all it's done is got loads of school kids wanting in which is no good. The boyz n' da Hood type ending is completely uncalled for and the sort of thing you see in all sorts of B movie pap. If anyone saw the panorama docu on the World cup the other week thats the exact sought of breed of new asbo type thugs it's spawned. It's not true to the book either. I Just think it was way, way off the mark. With some parts being absolutely unwatchable.

I saw the program you mentioned and found it ok but i live next to huddersfield and a few people i know still dick about with the scrapping and all that so i thought the over mention of the hudds youth crew would just make them happy and feel like really big me.
Think about it bbc you nobs, all these kids want is town are the hardest to be implied on tv.

just saw this thread and i thought i'd just say, the film was enjoyable for me and so was the buisness, i found them entertaining but one thing i always find with these films is the violence they show is always too choreagraphed, fighting at footy is hilerious to watch as it is just mainly punches being thrown into mid air and people falling on their arses not like in these films were every punch connects with someones nose. i have read the book that fbf was based on and the prequel and sequel, now they were excellent, the fbf book also delved a lot more into the two old war heroes story and the stories of going into battle and fighting at games are told side by side as to show that some hoolies actually think they are making a difference by fighting. danny dyer does only play himself but i quite like his cheeky cockney charm, he is in a film called the other half that is fairly good.

Grading eh? I remember it fondly.... A bitch to do, but it sounds as though you've got a good set up there, so nice one. Looking forward to seeing this one.
