Wow, went to the Metro screening tonight and it was bloody marvellous. Great Q&A before the show, impromptu interruption from Smell, outstanding film and a round of applause after.

I agree completely with you, fantastic film. Great to see a showing of "wheres the money ronnie" before the main film. Pity Shane coudn't make it though.

It's really interesting to hear that Where's the Money Ronnie was screened before the film. How great would it be if it was kept on the front of the film for the theatrical release! Would be amazing to try and usher back in the era of shorts before the main feature again.

My partner and I was lucky enough to see This Is England at The Metro last night. Although I was wondering if we might have had to have slept there! Loadsa snow!
It was great having a cast member making an entrance and having a bunch of skinheads in the audience too. That bloody door, though! Get it sorted Metro!
It was a fantastic film and we thoroughly enjoyed the Q&A with Mark Herbert. Very informative and funny. I would have liked to have shaken Shane's hand and said something like, 'Thanks for making the films that you do.', but then running off all embarrassed like.
I hope he gets to Berlin alright!

A short and encouraging email volley between me and Caroline at The Broadway in Nottingham! Dear sir or madam I was wondering if you are planning to show any preview screenings of Shane Meadows' new film, This Is England? Also, are you planning any special events to coincide with the release of the film in April?Hello This is England is due to open at the end of April & we'll be doing a special screening at some point in the month with Shane & other cast members. We're also planning a retrospective of Shane's films throughout the month... Keep an eye out for the April brochure or website www.broadway.org.uk Best wishes CarolineHi Caroline Thanks for the info. Great news to hear you'll be doing a retrospective. Will this include Shane Meadows' many shorts? I will be there! Thanks again.Yes, I'm going to ask Shane to programme some of his favourite shorts with the features.... Best wishes CarolineFantastic news! Thanks.
I sent the same email to The Phoenix in Leicester and The Ritz in Belper but no replies yet. I asked at The Metro in Derby but they're not planning anything special. A MEADOWS RETROSPECTIVE, PEOPLE!!
