I must point out that I hate Crash too. It's piss. To me it was another one of those things where most of the world seems to have gone mad in an 'emperor's new clothes' kind of way.

in hollywood: 'magnolia' by P.T. Anderson took the sweeping ensemble piece and for me made it work, because it dealt with the crippling everyday... soderbergh's 'traffic' used the same idea and for me it was the tender everyday moments that made it worth a second watch (the baseball scene at the end for example is real nice) then 'crash' totally ripped off both but dealt with the R word. it was an ostentatious ... a definitive example of cut and indulgent piece of poo.... cut and paste, formuliac film making... i'm pretty pleased that TIE choose not to borrow from 'crash' too

CRASH was bollocks - a film that relied on way too much coincidence and was really heavy-handed in it's charactisation.

This was a true representation of Shane's experience as he found it (we lead our lives with free agency and there in we all are different and lead our lives differently even if we may have similar backgrounds), so it should not really be judged as right or wrong but of course all films are interpreted differently especially with an open ended film! It was very honest portrait and I was effected by it. Such a harsh comment is undue and sadly does not show much for the tact (nor intelligence) of the person making the comment on the IMDB. I am really pleased it was a success and wish the cast and crew well.
