Going to be a cult classic if they show it or not a must have in the dvd library at home ... bit short sighted particulary as they are trying to encourage the home film industry at moment

TIE is now in the top ten!* Up from 11 to number 9, pop pickers. Noddarf!
And with still only 60 prints?
Ace!

Who needs IMDB Pro, when the regular old IMDB already has the new box office top ten. Well, I guess you would need it if you want to check what is outside of the top ten... but thankfully, that is once again not necessary! This Is England has crept up to number 8 and is teetering on just under a million quid in takings. I knew there was still some momentum in the box office for the film. My forecast for next week though is a pessimistic drop to number 10.

I didn't realise you could access the UK Box Office figures on the regular IMDB site, mate...
It's good to see THIS IS ENGLAND climbing up the chart - even if it sinks out of the top ten, it will continue to make money through it's rolling distribution. This has got to be Shane's biggest hit to date, right?

I'm not a regular follower of box-office stats, so how does TIE's performance stack up against other homegrown films? I suppose something like The Queen took a lot more but with a lot more prints in circulation?

I suppose something like The Queen took a lot more but with a lot more prints in circulation? It's doing incredibly well, considering the number of screens it's playing on. now into it's third week of release, it still has the fourth-highest average takings per screen in the top ten.

Has to be said, I was not pleased when TIE was released and it wasn't in my local multiplex. Aye, like most of Shane's films. Honestly, do they honestly think we just watch over hyped multi million dollar blockbusters?
However, come the second week of release, I was more than a little happy to see it where I can walk to rather than wait to see it in an art house environment, Plus I was talking to someone about Dead Man's Shoe's and the UK Subs (as heard on the film) - how many people who go and see blockbuster films do that.

It makes me sick to think "Firehouse Dog" (yes it IS about a dog who is a firefighter) will be in more cinemas and This Is England.

Glad to hear it's going so well for TIE. It definitely deserves to. It's a bloody good film!
How do the stats compare to Dead Mans Shoes and OUATITM?

The current box office take is around £950K - when it hits £1m, it'll have grossed more than all of Shane's previous films combines, according to him.

Some chump on YouTube has tried to justify piracy by claiming that This Is England made 26 million in it's first week of release. I've put him straight already, but feel free to have a dig at him yourself!
