I know its at least 4-5 months away but Shane and Optimum will be thinking about the DVD release soon if not already. So with that in mind what would you like to see on the DVD....

LOTS of deleted scenes. Maybe even a second version of the film, with all the scenes cut out, put back in? or is that a bad idea? I've heard about so many scenes I'd like to see you know. Great thread idea btw.

Good question! What I've been thinking about a lot is the process of how Shane Meadows turned Thomas Turgoose in to a performer of great worth. Seeing the audition footage on the TIE website and the snippet on The South Bank Show where Thomas is expressing doubts about his attire (if memory serves) I would love to see a little (or big ) documentary showing footage of Thomas's transformation, the highs and lows and finishing off with his own thoughts about it all. I'll be forward and suggest a title ;D. In Shaun's Shoes

I'd like a couple of commentaries one with Shane and Mark Herbert that is semi-serious and one with all the gang that is a good laugh maybe done with a few beers! I thought about a directors cut or extended version but with a few exceptions these usually take away from the theatrical version unless Shane says otherwise!

Hello Lee
Can we have the Director's commentary again please, like on Dead Man's Shoes. There was so much that I saw when taken through the scenes by Shane (although I'm very perceptive, you must understand) and it was really interesting to learn about the actors, locations used etc. I also really liked the deleted scenes that are on the Dead Man's Shoes DVD.
Thanks for asking.
Carolyn

Just like to see the DVD released, unable to get to my cinema where its showing as its a late show at 8pm, and we have kids to look after, well gutted. Have seen the "Bootlegs" already appearing on E--Bay.... of This Is England.... but dont see the point, I like to watch films how the Maker intended.... Just got 3 of Shane's other Dvd releases from HMV.... so cannot wait for This Is England Dvd.....
Good Luck all..... Nice to finally have a site where similiar thinking minds can meet.

Welcome to the site grimreaper!
Hopefully the DVD release will be pretty swift. I'm often amazed how soon things appear on DVD now, including British independent films. Let's hope there are no spanners to get in the works.
Commentary is a must. The commentaries on Shane's films are some of the best I've ever heard, and I'm not just saying that either. They are full of really interesting info, plenty of banter and larks too!

I reckon it'll be out in September - the last theatrical date on the official site is 3rd September - so I can't imagine the DVD coming out before then.
