That's the first time I've seen Daniel Day Lewis and Matt Willis mentioned in the same sentence! And most probably the last.

Frikking get in there baby!!!! What a night, It was all topped off with me beating stallone in an arm wrestle at the after show!!!! When I haven't got a peeholes for eyes and sandpaper for a tongue, I will give a better rundown. Fair to say it was the proudest night of my life so far and to win for the first time with Paddy on the same night was just magic, Met Daniel Day Lewis, Antony hopkins, Matt Willis and Santy Toszvik to name but a few, but being with me homies was what really made it and I can now die a HAPPY MAN! Hehe I can't even begin to imagine how on top of Blackpool Tower yer feeling after last night. Such an ace name of celebs you were hob-nobbing with too. Sandy bleedin' TOSZVIK!!! My god. Well done and finally getting some of that long-deserved fishul credit!

WELL DONE SHANE AND PADDY! And to everyone else involved in making the films. TIE really deserved to win it. I watched the BAFTAS and was so happy when TIE won! Superb. ;D

Well done Shane and team. At last a relevant story about English people gets recognition from the establishment. Gotta say its inspirational for young writers like myself I hate it when Hollywood fawns over the likes of Mrs Henderson Presents and the Queen, when they don't paint a picture what life is like for 99% of working people in Britain. The same for Billy Eliot to an extent. The only way he could escape industrial decay in the north was to go and prance about for the benefit of the upper classes in a pair of tights. B*llocks to that!! If the film had ended with Billy getting pissed up and twatting a copper (more likely) no-one would have wanted to know...but Billy piroetting his way out of poverty...how delightful Thanks Shane for giving us working class boys and girls a voice and painting a picture of England warts and all

Ive just watched the footage again and wheled up! I cant believe how amazing i felt last nite watching that. I cried and screamed and cheered, my curry hit the roof, its a real good job i never went because i would of jumped on Daniel Day lewis's head! God what an amazing outcome and its Tomo's birthday today too, nice presi.
Well done everyone, the speach was so moving from Mark and Shane and im so so proud to be part of this. I loved the fact that Shane got the award from Rocky! In ya go deeeeaaaaan!
I saw Paddy sat in the audience with Shane, it really touched me, best buds together and both in the same nite, after all those noms in the past, how frikkin cool to top it off to get one together, ita a dream come true and a moment that will be difficult to beat!
God only knew this would happen!
Sharon will be so so proud!
God im happy! xxxxxxx

He looked made up for the Meadows! such a classic!!! Yep... Mr Day-Lewis did look well chuffed. Someone else mentioned seeing an interview with him on Sky news after the ceremony and he was bigging up This Is England. Bizarrely, one of the things I find funniest about the acceptance clip is the shot of middle-aged, posh fellows in the audience rocking in their seats to "Do The Dog". haha. They're probably all famous, but I don't know who they are myself.

'twas me. Sorry head like a sieve at the best of times and it was very late, so this certainly isn't verbatim, but he was asked a general question about how the awards had been distributed and he said that he was delighted Shane Meadows had won and that he loved the film. Then he said it was great for 'the young boy' and that too often childhood stardom was a disaster, but in this case it was a really positive thing...and a bit more that I forget now, but the main thing was it was a general question and he focused specifically on Shane.
Hope this doesn't come across as overly sentimental, but he was making a point about Tomo that I've often thought about (and probably many other folk on site), which is how the entire production team and cast have really looked after him and shielded him from an experience that-without such care-could be a disaster in the making. It certainly has been an amazing year for the young chap. Oh and happy birthday fella btw ;D
Edit: Am I the only one who isn't a bit disappointed that Shane didn't arm wrestle Sandi Toksvig? ;D
Edit (again): Completely agree it was brilliant the way peopLE cheered when TIE was announced as the winner..that's real LOVE that goes beyond the usual polite artistic appreciation. Brilliant Shane! Plus we now know that King of the Gypsies will be made...which is just bloody marvellous!!!!
