Evening all,
My names Ben and I'm a Shane Meadows fan. Now the AA bits out of the way, I need you to help me. I work for the east end film festival and we are currently putting a programme together. My ideas about films about Lesbian knife fights have been dismissed and I've been told to find out what people want to watch. Seeing as you're all Shane fans, I tyhought you'd have a good idea about what to show. So, any ideas, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
Keep the faith
Ben Millar

A bally good day to you all.
Mart from Wythenshawe in Manchester making your acquaintance. Hope everyones upful. Married 23 years, 42 y.o, 2 kids aged 20 and 18 respectively. Thats all we need to know for now.
Im a moderator for the Official Ian Brown Forum in between sleep and work and we have a lovely little community going with like minded people who enjoy quality. We talk about Ian a lot. Because we like what he does alot. Recently, weve been talking about Shanes stuff a lot. Think we think we are experts in films but suddenly the reality of coming on this site today made me realise I know nowt!! Oh well. Still learning, young soyd!!!
Im here to learn/see a lot more about Shanes work, including some of the short films.
Me, my wife and the kids have really enjoyed everything Shanes done so far. Captures everything for us.
Look forward to some friendly banter. Looking forward to seeing some more great work.
Love,
Mart

Hello hello!
Everyone well I hope! Enjoying the bitter cold as I am down south, lovely! - The fist film I saw of Shane's was A Room for Romeo Brass - TOP FILM! I loved it! Couldn't be beaten could it! I was wrong, it could be beaten! Dead Man's Shoes, TOP FILM, This is England, TOP FILM!
So, I haven't found a great deal on this site to do with script writing... Am I being think... If I am not... is there anybody who would like to read my script, give me feedback, and/or help to develop it?
I have so far had positive feedback, however I am now stuck with where to go with it, what to do with it...How does one get funding etc, etc...
Over and out, crackle, crackle...

Hi Stuart, A very warm welcome to you despite the inclement weather! You've probably discovered this already now, but when you get a chance, have a look at the filmaking section of the boards, you'll find lots of very helpful people there i'm sure All the best, look forward to chatting scripts with you. Welcome Stuart, and bungle, and lovealmighty, and benmillar! All aboard!
As Ria said, the film-making section is full of people happy to help with the world of scripts!
Remember all you new folks, don't just stop at saying hello in this part of the forum because many people don't take a look at this section (or so it would seem). Well, there's only so many ways you can say hello I guess.
For example, thelovealmighty, I'm sure you'll get more of a response if you speak about your official Ian Brown site in the Anything Else section.

Thanks Dave. Much appreciate the warm welcome and friendly advice. Didnt want to bombard your wonderful forum with things Ian to be honest, but having had a healthy smattering of Mr Meadows recently, felt inspired to show some respect here by virtue of the fact that Shanes music scores were very 'down our street' in terms of IBXs stuff (Corpses on RB) and a SKA, reggae seam throughout. Which is fundamentally mine and others on the IB forums DNA make-up. LOL!...Shanes stuff has been discussed on our own forum. Certainly considered a director who delves in an gets his hands dirty. Great, great film. Great, great characters. Great, great slabs of reality. It is when you know I live in Wythenshawe, one of the largest Council estates in Europe, alledgedly. Basically one can deduce from that that living in a place like this is very simliar to a Meadows film in many respects!!
And working with the Admin guys on Ians site I think I know and understand what a difficult job it is to keep such a popular forum in check.
I'll have a mooch, and its a pleasure to be here mucker.
All the best with it,
Mart
