Hello, great site and forum. Been lovin’ Shane Meadows films for a few years now, doesn’t matter how many times I watch his films, they always wreck with my head (Especially TIE, which has got to be his most disturbing film to date) and his short films wreck with my belly. Can’t wait for the new ‘Le Donk’ feature, Shane and Paddy are an unstoppable force!!! Cheers for adding the Richard Hawley vid, as I doubt I would have heard of it otherwise, always wondered what a Meadows Music vid would look like.

I should introduce myself to this forum, as I joined Paddy Considine's forum a few days ago as well.
Brought up in Burton, it's been really heart-warming to see Shane and Paddy's rise to stardom over the past decade, and it gives all of us from East Staffordshire a real boost of pride to see world-class talent making its mark out of this borough.
I've always been more of a fan of British cinema, especially lower budget films, than Hollywood. Hollywood has never really done it for me, with a few exceptions of course. You can admire Hollywood, but in my opinion British cinema can you only truly love. The likes of Loach and Leigh (and Meadows) have always done a lot more for me, in terms of viewing satisfaction, than Scorsese and Spielberg ever have.
Looking forward to what Shane - and Paddy - bring us in the future.

Nice to see you here, fauldcritter! ;D I would have to agree with you on your last couple of comments: The one about looking forward to Shane & Paddy's future projects goes without saying ; and what I've seen of Mike Leigh's and Shane Meadows' work (6 films from the former, and 3 from the latter) has moved me a lot more than most Hollywood films have. (Haven't seen anything by Ken Loach yet, but I may look into his stuff.)

Hi GR, thanks f' welcome. Ken Loach is certainly worth a look, he has a long and distinguished filmography. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_LoachKes, My Name Is Joe and Raining Stones are good starters.
