If Shane made a film and you thought it was sh*t. How many of you would say so? I reckon about a quarter. The rest would be harping on about the magic of guerilla film-making, the romance of hanging around in Midlands underpasses and reeling off model names of digital cameras
"Oh yes the zx81 is amazing"
sycophancy beyond words sometimes

I'm sure someone has already mentioned it but if your on a directors forum you tend to be there to appreciate and not hate. sycophancy? I would be the first in the line to say that OUATITM is a sub-meadows quality film and some others on here wouldn't be far behind me in admitting that it's way down their list. But I think what we are asking of you is to please just give a chance for the Baby to be born before you call it ugly. I'm not one to get into these petty debates but what's Shane supposed to say when someone who makes their own films ask what camera is best to shoot with? Would you rather it went: "Hi Shane, What's the best camera to shoot with?" "Fuck off I'm busy making films that matter" Unlikely you say you've 'earned' the right to rant about things because you have seen the films on the big screen. God knows what you would have thought if you had seen a 5 minute sneak preview of Romeo Brass. Thats me done with my rant. I expect a retort but don't feel pressured to bother. I'm a lover not a fighter. Additionally, this isn't a loaded question. But I am interested in what you have written that's won an award.Honestly.

"Yeah, finish your beats and we'll talk later." I have no idea why, but that line amuses me no end. I like that one too. from that scene I prefer: "Take your headphones off be fuc..., Yeah! that's it" also like: "Not from there mate you won't make it...You could always do a Beth Ditto ...flop into the cwowd"

TonyYeboah, I encountered a lot of people like youself in college and if I had listened to them, I would be picking up litter in Alton Towers. Keyboard Kritics are actually an inspiration to me, they pass judgement from the security of a username and pee their pants when people find out who they are. You actually wrote a private message to me and asked me not to say your real name on the forum. How brave are you?

It's entirely different to your approach in which you announce your disliking and bolster your opinion with unnecessary and rude digs: "the editing looks like its been done by a college student" for example. Just rudeness really. Manners cost nothing!

.... I'll wander off now ...
Personally, I think Shane is brillybobs! I was "introduced" to Dead Man's Shoes by two scallies from an underground network <<-- oh yes, make of it what ye will ... Anyways ... his interpretation of life as I knew it, worked wonders, and I was hooked! I'll always look on his future works, as genius .. till I decide better!

I've deleted my lengthy post Tony because to be honest it's not really worth bothering is it, but as for; the magic of guerilla film making and the romance of hanging around a Midlands underpass reeling of model names,
I'm an aspiring film maker, film is my life and has been for the last three years I'm 21 and need all the help advise and encoragement I can get and constructive possitive negativity is also helpful.
I don't know if you've took advice on screenwriting or are just naturally "gifted" but personally I jump at the chance to ask Shane questions as he's someone who has achieved what I one day hope to
Romance and magic doesn't enter into it, it's all about having stories worth telling a bit of fun and relentless hard graft and if I sound like an anorak for talking about model names etc. then so be it

You actually wrote a private message to me and asked me not to say your real name on the forum. How brave are you? That's the nature of the fucking interent, isn't it? Every cunt has an opinion and as we're British that opinion is usually negative by default. It's bollocks and I could debate about this shit all day but I do believe that manay people post negative shit on forums, for the same reason others watch reality TV show - by slagging off other people and their work, it's some sort of cathartic validation of their own lives. I love film and am very rarely negative in the extreme about anything - there's usually something to enjoy about most things, but then again, I do spend a heck of a lot o time watching cheesy Italian cop pictures and long forgotten British thrillers, so what the fuck do I know? Hell, I've even defended some of Nick Loves films! I learned from a very early age that there will always be those that are venomously opposed to the majority, just to try and be different and usually without being able to make a intelligent argument to the contrary.

soz gang i've been busy with all sorts at the moment..
but yea the trailers lookin very intresting (i wanted to put 'in-tree-ging' but dont know how to spell it).
Its rly quite stange that shane and paddy have opted to do this tho.. as me and a filmmaking friend have always talked of doing a similar sort of thing to this.. but if we ever did do it it wud be like we were either copying or trying to compete and thats not what i'd want at all as it makes us look like we havnt got enough about us to come up with a new idea. and + theres a big chance le donk wud wipe the floor with us!
