Some good 'uns there Gadge... I particularly like Ricky Gervais' stand-up stuff. I DO recommend, even though a lot can't stand - Ken Dodd - he REALLY knows how to work an audience and knows his stuff believe me - if ever you get a chance, go and see - you won't be disappointed... you won't be offended either but hey - that's something you'll have to live with! As for the guy who admires Chris - "Horace" - f*ckin' creepy! "Hey there Mr. Muscly Arms... you wanna popsicle... I've a freezerful in ma' basement" - disturbingly funny though Hmm... stuff I like: Phoenix Nights Extras Dad's Army Open All Hours Only Fools & Horses King Of The Hill Laurel & Hardy The Office and sh*tloads more. Add 'Shameless' to that if we're having comdy/drama too! N.

The best thing about this site is people are posting about Charles Manson and Osama Bin Laden then the next post says:
I can't wait for Rush Hour 3

Ah yes... the 'randomness' of posting... cross-threading... going of at a tangent... subject changing! Can't beat it - it's the 'Ronnie Corbett In The Chair' moment that posters have... start talking about gastroenteritis and then it's: I had that when on holiday I went to Corwall for my hols My brother come off his bike there. I've just bouht my son a bike... and a reflective jacket. Hey I've just bought a new jacket... etc. Love it! N.

I've said some of this before......
I'd never posted on an internet site until a year ago.....now I usually check this forum every morning (before I read my email). My attachment to the site is especially 'odd' because I'm a bit older than most people (didn't grow up in an internet culture) and it's mostly blokes on here.
Apart from the obvious-keeping up with Shane related news- the best thing for me is the humour. Other things:
I work at home a lot and I'm stuck at the computer for hours at a time. Not complaining-would hate a 9-5 job-but the downside is that it can be a bit lonely (sob), so every so often, I check the forum....it really is like stopping for break and a natter;
Over time, I've picked up on the people here who share similar tastes to me in some things...especially films, but also music, books, comedy etc..so it's a great way to pick up on stuff that would otherwise pass me by;
And, yes, I agree with Chewie, it's great that Shane and members of the cast and crew get involved in the 'anything else' stuff and-although it doesn't affect me-give encouragement and feedback to the actual or aspiring film-makers, actors, writers etc on the site.
There's not any of that nasty flaming stuff -just the occasional barny-which is, in truth, good fun (always get tons of views) unless it gets out of hand.
Anyhoo...thanks Dave...
Edit: Don't take this the wrong way...you know I love you all...but it would be quite nice if a few more women posted.

it's refreshing to find a forum that attracts intelligent debate about stuff rather than degenerating to pointless one-upmanship and name calling, you know, like the comments under pretty much every you-tube video......
and anyone who disagrees with this is a MEGA ASSHOLE LOL

What I like about the forum is the "Lad's Mag, Tits Out" attitude that prevails throughout the postings. Seriously, gents, you know that isn't true and I have certainly learnt a lot of things since joining this truely amazing website. I have learnt patience when reading Large's postings and learnt to actually like the Scottish, which was a real struggle. I enjoy the banter that exists in the forum and some of the insults that make one bleed through every orifice but most of all it is the shared humour that makes me smile, especially the "Knock Knock" style jokes that are appearing regularly. But please remember that if I don't find something funny, then it isn't.
Seriously, the people on this forum come across as not only intelligent and sensitive but as absolute perverts at times with an insane obsession with football and the ability to drink and punch people's lights out as and when required. Surely the community here could be held up as shining examples of the great British public.
I like the way that the cast and crew frequent the boards as well as Shane himself and I especially liked it when somebody mentioned that Shane may even be asked to meet up for a drink with forum members and none of the forum members responded. It could be to do with the fact that the forum members are more egotistical than any cast or crew member or even the great man himself.
This is deadly serious now. I have received some good hints and tips regarding which camcorder to buy and how to modernise my music collection.
The people on this site seem really nice and I would like to meet several of you. Perhaps we could go to the Devil's House and I could top myself in front of you. It'd be something to do anyway.
Love you all loads,
Carolyn x
