Hi
New to this forum but spend a lot of time on others - I am a fan of Shane's movies (obviously) and movies in general and spend a lot of my time collecting alt movie posters - still to see many good ones for Shane's movies but I know a ton of people that would love to see some of his movies get an alternative sceenprint so hopefully we can see that happen some day (soon).
Cheers

Hi Dave et al.... This is 'The Member Formerly Known As Workshed' (from the VERY early days of the SM boards) here, now 'TelboyD' (simply because I can't recover my old account because I moved isp a few years ago). Here to add my condolences regarding Gavin. :-( Trust you're all good despite the terrible news. All the best, Tel. Hey there! Welcome back. A few old-timers have been appearing recently... maybe internet forums are coming back in fashion! Well, weirdly, it's been a year exactly since I was last here. Nice to see the Brule avatar, Dave. Did you catch 'Bagboy'..? The good news is, there's a fourth series a couple of months away, and one of the hot topics this time is 'Eggs'.

Bringo! Yeah, Bagboy was pretty amazing, despite it's slower space. Loved Brule's gun safety moment to camera! I did see one promo photo of the new season of Brule of him sat in a car in a car showroom. Finally he gets a show about his most favourite thing! I bet he's got like five of cars! Maybe a Brule thread in the Anything Else section is in order... that'll get me posting more often! ha

(The only movie poster I have is Napoleon Dynamite, and that was a gift from my mom over a decade ago... ) I've got quite a stash of film posters as I've worked in cinemas for ages now. Used to take home loads, but now don't really bother... I'm probably missing some prime collectibles of the future! My prize poster is the original cinema poster for Peter Jackson's Brain Dead!

been meaning to do this for a while. I was at school with Master meadows (get you...). but didn't really know him. Acquaintances did (I have some photos of you with them, Shane... taken in the lockers area, ground floor, Alleyne's. Not going to post them on a public forum though... I can send copies, if you'd like, Meadows, but wouldn't dream of sharing them otherwise.. so no one ask, okay... prefer to respect people's privacy ( I think you're still in touch with the other people, Shane, even if I'm not ).
Lovely to see Shane doing so well. Enjoyed his work thus far. Looking forward to whatever else might be in the pipeline.

Hi alleynesme. As you will have noticed, it's been proper quiet around here for ages. Shane has popped up on here a few times with updates, but it hasn't been for a while now. You never know, he may pop back and try and get a look at those photos!

Hey folks,
I obviously love the work of Shane Meadows. I have seen a lot of his work and really like the fact that although i have obsessed with This is England, Dead Mans Shoes and found Gavin Clark's incredible work, i still have a fair bit to get through.
I totally love the atmosphere in the movies and Shane is easily my favourite director/writer. I'm grew up in the through the 80's in a council estate in a small town in Scotland and identify with the environments Shane creates.
So here i am, i'm now moving on to find as much stuff by Shane as possible and give it a watch.
Hello everyone, i look forward to getting to know you all!

DMS is the one I started with; and I saw TIE on the big screen in Omaha not long afterwards. If you haven't seen A Room for Romeo Brass, it's pretty dang funny (though it gets a bit dark in places) -- since it was never released on R1 DVD, I had to get a R2 import copy and a region-free DVD player, but it was totally worth it.

So I took your advice and watched A room for Romeo Brass. I loved it, Paddy was incredible and Gavin Clark was on the sound track.
Andrew Shim and Vicky McClure where awesome!
I really enjoyed it. I look forward to the next movie I have Once Upon a Time in The Midlands.
Cheers,

OUATITM is probably my least favorite, but I still found it pretty amusing, with a decent cast. I also like: 24/7 -- Bob Hoskins was great in this (I have it on VHS) Somers Town -- sweet coming-of-age story co-starring Thomas Turgoose of TIE (got it on R1 DVD for Christmas a few years ago) Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee -- hysterical mockumentary with Paddy (I saw this a couple times on the Sundance Channel several years ago)
