Was a good way to spend a Sunday night, did wonder if any other forum regulars would suddenly reveal themselves..
Yeah great job once again Chromebaby, and pleasure as always mr thribb.
On The film - said to Paddy it just looked like such a laugh to make, I went with my mates Jack & Joe Dempsie, and we must have giggled through the whole thing.. so light-hearted and spontaneous. Great way to showcase Scor-z to others from outside of Notts, long deserved.

Just watched the trailer to this on Warp's myspace page. Looks pretty funny. How come it's released in cinemas on 9th October and then available on DVD on 16th October? I thought films were given at least six months at the cinema before the films are available on DVD.

I thought films were given at least six months at the cinema before the films are available on DVD. I think it is partly because the cinema release is relatively small (so people can see it soon enough even if no cinema near them is showing it), and partly due to the experimental nature of the whole project.

chromebaby that is a lovely wide shot of everyone on the stage and Thribb, brilliant pics! I can see your silver hair bang in the middle at the front of the audience in chromebaby's shot so do I get a prize? Anyway last night me and Bry went to the screening at The Showroom in Sheffield and we were both absolutely blown away by the film. This is England and Dead Man's Shoes were already amongst my favourite films of all time, but Le Donk is up there with Harold and Maude in my books; bursting with pathos. It got that balance absolutely right where you hit an audience with the laugh/cry sandwich - one minute they are chomping away laughing and then the next they are stopped in their tracks by a bit of tragedy stuck in their teeth. (Ouch. Purple prose there, sorry!) Anyway enough of me and my opinion, I filmed the Q & A and I will endeavour to get it YouTubed and on here, Paddy's site and on me blog as soon as possible, although today I'm a) meant to be going for a coffee with my mate Maggie in an effort to be more sociable and b) working out what the heck a publishing contract looks like as my favourite illustrator in the world has agreed to let us publish the first book of his incredible toons for his massive fan base. But I will fit it all in; I am determined! Anyway, I've updated my blog entry today with a new quote I wrote which is: "Shane Meadows is the godfather of the Fuck It Let's Do It movement of filmmaking." which I believe is true and one day in years to come, with hindsight, will be validated. (waves to Shane) Nice to finally meet you as well

...I've been in computer hell since yesterday mid-morning with a graphics card which has chosen now to malfunction, so it may well be a few days before I'm able to upload this Q & A as I'm now having to consult my techy mate - sorry if anyone was waiting. Strangely enough, I've found that an outbreak of girly sobbing at this predicament (computer hell is one of my most unfavourite places to be) has actually made me feel a little more positive.

Just finished my live two camera edit of Paddy and Scorz's Q&A at the Watershed in Bristol. It was great. Lasted for about 30 minutes. But now we have to wait for the IT department to get the video online.... don't hold your breath! The live edit is great fun, if a little nerve-racking! We have two ceiling mounted cameras (ex-porn studio ones) that are remotely controlled from the projection room where we have the controls, monitors and HDV recorder (and a laptop to record directly onto to.. a bloody Mac of course... I nearly had to boycott proceedings!). Think I did a good job... we'll soon see. Any crazy foul ups in the edit are probably added in post to make me look crap! Got to meet Paddy again which was great. He had a quick peek at the camera control set-up and I had the opportunity to show him my joystick.

As for my footage of the Sheffield Q & A, I was really hoping to be able to produce a YouTube of this with a flourish after a couple of days, but my PC problem is more serious than I thought and I've had to call out Bob the Boffin Builder which can't happen till this Friday. I'm already committed for next weekend so I've earmarked a week on Monday to do this. Sorry if anyone was waiting. Shit happens. Just when you don't want it to.
