Hi
Firstly hello to Dave & thanks for setting up this site. Secondly, I've been trying to get hold of a copy of Small Time / Where's The Money Ronnie DVD (now deleted it seems) for ages, to no avail. Does anyone here know where I can get one? My VHS version has just about died. I've played the movie to loads of people in the past & it's always been greatly appreciated.
Shane if you're reading this, and you happen to have a spare copy kicking around Chez Meadows, please let me know. I'm willing to pay top dollar, like.
Thanks all.

Unfortunately Smalltime hasn't been released on dvd I think, but you could get a new VHS copy from the likes of www.sendit.com and use their hunt service to track down deleted films. Shane might also be able to help you too.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. It was definitely released on DVD in a limited quantity as my local film shop has it for rent. Unfortunately for me they don't ant to part with it!

Ah I see and come to think of it I'm not sure if this is the actual VHS or DVD they are offering to track down. www.sendit.com/video/item/7000000047053 is the link. I might send them an e-mail and ask them as it doesn't really say what format, but with the £16.99 price you would think DVD.

I'd join said local video store under an assumed name and thieve it. Resort to underhand tactics in your quest my man!! Alternative's could be ramraiding and arson (make sure you get in a grab it before the place goes up though) and they'll assume i t was lost in the inferno!!

I myself had no idea that they had ever released any DVD copies. I myself only have one tatty VHS copy. I am however in the process of buying back the right with warpfilms, so that we can re-release it properly on DVD. With heaps of extra stuff. I was hoping to put the original 90 min cut (Final version was only 60min) on another disc with loads of other rare bits and bobs. It is proving a bit tricky, but we will get there. If anyone can get hold of any DVD copy, I would love to see it.

'Small Time' is my favourite of your work - I remember thinking how you packed so much into the 60min cut, so I am positively relishing the idea of another 30 mins of Jumbo and that hair!!!
Really hope this works out.
Can't wait, m8!!

Its Jambo mate. That scene when the guy does that move on him and he passes out. Fucking comedy genius.

Just having a quick gander at the 247 screenplay book (which also features scripts for Where's the Money Ronnie? and Smalltime/Left) and the character is called Jumbo Johnson. It is admittedly the original script at the time when it was called Left, so maybe it did change later on.

Thanks for taking the time to post a reply Shane. Good luck with getting the rights back - it'd be great to see it on a DVD with loads of additional footage.

This is actually a VHS version - to my knowledge, the film wa only released on VHS (by Electric Pictures). Electric's films were later distributed by Polygram (as was Smalltime) which in turn, was bought by Universal in 1999. Many of the films in Electric's catalogue are now owned by Universal...
