The one things that makes me smile is that hopefully this series will get shown in America where they all think were tea drinking aristocrats and hopefully it'll make em choke.

Don'y worry, that new show written by Julian Fellowes will soon change that ;D

Theres absolutely no way this is the last in the series, too many unanswered questions etc.
Does Meggy know about his kid for instance, surely there should have been some form of closure or why have the storyline...
Combo is seen to have redeemed himself, a reformed character, yet there is absolutely nothing to say he has renounced his racist views, I think he only interacted with 5 characters in TiE 86 and was never given the chance to spout any of his old rhetoric.
Perhaps thats the genius of this film, it keeps you wondering!

I don't think 1986 was prior to the invention of the radio alarm clock, but the prefered method of waking someone up seemed to be a swift slap to the noggin.

I guess it seems mad considering what follows it, but the bit where my stomach felt like it dropped out of me, was the tiny moment where Lol prodded Mick in the chest.
That was an "oh fuck" moment.

I don't think 1986 was prior to the invention of the radio alarm clock, but the prefered method of waking someone up seemed to be a swift slap to the noggin. Yeah. Haha! That was a bit of light relief. On the whole I thought it was powerful and dark. Hard to watch and hard to enjoy most of the time but the actors at the centre of the storm gave it their all. As a fan and from a fan's self centered point of view I personally hope this is where it ends. Artistically that would be the right thing to do in my humble O. Leave me to imagine what they do next. Less is more. Telly land sucks success dry though. It can't help itself. Schedules need to be filled and ratings need to be gathered. It's a hunger that will never be sated and it's a vacuum that'll only move on when there'll be nothing left. There is another side to this though. There are the actors and crew involved too. This is work for them and in an industry where work isn't guaranteed this series and another one would mean paying the bills and living the dream for a year or two more. It's also great for their profiles and cvs. Anyway... Anyone else spot Shane Meadows's dad in the cell into which Combo went? Lying on the top bunk. I wonder if they'll recognise each other from the BNP meeting they both went to four years earlier.

FINALLY GOT TO SEE IT!!! went to bed at about tea time last night and jumped out of bed at 5 this morning only to see it wasn't up on 40D!
I was physically shaking during that scene between Lol and Mick, violently shaking, the adrenaline was just unreal I don't think I've ever felt to be in a situation with a character so much as that one, that single take and then what followed was just outstanding, I thought for one second that Lol wasn't going to manage to fight him off and I was literally standing up shouting at the screen. AMAZING and then as Combo sorted things out even though I knew as soon as he turned up what he was going to do I had tears rolling down my face, it was all just perfect
not to forget the rest of the episode which was also brilliant
now looking back at the thing as a whole I'm glad the comedy bits were how they were, this set out to achieve something in this medium and succeeded, I've never known people have a reaction to something TV film or otherwise as much as they reacted to the end of EP3 and what they wanted to see happen in EP4,
This was Shane's first female lead story and for me the most powerful female lead story I've ever seen god knows what Vicky Mcclure will go onto now the skys the limit not forgetting the rest of the cast
lets hope this series makes things easier in future for funding for King of The Gypsies, whatever else is in the pipeline and Shane's next female lead film.
I'd love to see TIE90 but personally I'd rather see Shane make another feature (maybe beware of the devil) and then go onto make TIE90 who knows whats going to happen, I imagine CH4 will want to sign off TIE90 asap

That part of the scene felt to me a lot like the Richard/Sonny "you're fuckin' there mate" scene in DMS, only turned up to a million. The way Lol was pacing, trying to relish it, full of righteous venom but shitting herself... It was a wonderful performance from both of them.

Just a fantastic last episode. I was glued to the screen. Combo sacrificing himself for Lol was amazing.
I do wonder if he will get sent down or because of the mitigation circumstances will he get a suspended sentence instead.
I really hope Shane will do another mini series (maybe Shaun and Smell expecting a baby ha)
And I wish we could have some some more of Harv and his home life.
Also what is the theory on how Combo came to stumble across Shaun's house? Was he looking for Shaun (or as they moved in only a short time before was it Combo's mothers former house?)

I did indeed; but as he was in jail and was asked by the Governor what he was in for I thought it was maybe he was just remanded; waiting for court? As it was inter-cut with scenes of the match I thought it might be too soon for him to get the sentence handed down to him. Of course I could be wrong; just so many thoughts after it. Which shows how great a story teller Shane is.

We wondered about the time thing there too .. though I guess with it being manslaughter you wouldn't really be let out on bail so aye, perhaps he is in custody till sentence.
Looking at Lol and how she was more composed when she was with the gang - it had to be a good few days because, as strong as she is, she was in bits after the attack.
