I am deep in the writing process at the minute so I'll keep this breif (ish).
The rumours surrounding TIE90 are not true. I have expressed my desire to make it to c4. But it will defo not be shot this year and there are no plans as yet to even write it.
However, I am writing TIE88 at the moment with Jack Thorne which is a single 2hr ep/film that is set at Christmas in 1988.
Writing is going well and I'm hoping to meet the actors for some workshops in early FEB. Shooting should take place mid March and it should air December this year all being well.
More details to follow....

Well that's a turn up for the books and no mistake!
Great to hear there's a special in the works.
But I would love a nice big juicy Meadows film though to get my teeth stuck into!

Holy fuck! Yes, this makes a lot of sense. I thought you'd do this. It seemed a bit too soon to jump into another series if you ask me. A Christmas special would propell the popularity of it even further-and would be a great indication as to how how the reputation of TIE has survived one year on. I think that's why a lot of second series fail a bit....you don't want to have too much of a good thing just yet. Plus, we need the cast to age a bit too if it's four years later! I can't bloody wait!

I still want both, but I had wondered what had happened to the Christmas Special. I am in love with that idea - seeing the gang all festive. Poor Combo though... his will be prison turkey.

Great news. Though isn't it a year early? I'm not complaining like, but The Film and The series follow each other '82 then '86 and actually were 4 years in real time weren't they which adds to it.

Great news.............Combo eating Turkey
But if Shane is working on TIE 88 this year then maybe TIE 90 for the following year or 18 month it's gonna be ages untill we get to see a new Shane Film. Maybe four years until any future film hits the cinema GUTTED GUTTED GUTTED You know i'm speaking the truth your all gutted at the news but no one seems to want to say it.
TIE is class but it's a new film anytime for me.

So this one is going to focus on Woody and Lol again? There's even more baggage for Lol, but I'd like some happiness too. See them bonding, as well as torn apart. I'd like to see Lol visit Combo too.
I wonder if TIE'90 is going to focus more on the younger members of the gang?

You guys no i'm right your all to scared to voice your opinions unless it Shane is great, Shane is fantastic you stay silent. I loved TIE 86 but i was now hoping Shane would go back to what he does best and get stuck into making another quality film. I'm not coming on here to have a pop at Shane all i'm saying is Shane's films are classic's. TIE 86 is a decent TV program ok maybe a really good TV program But Films are what i want from Shane and i think most of his fans on this board agree with me or maybe they don't? I'd be interested to see if anyone agrees with me? Or would you like more TIE and no films during the next couple of years? Dont be afraid to voice your opinions Shane's not gonna come on and attack you for saying you'd prefer him to get stuck into a new film.
