For those who are interested:
After an extremely drawn-out and frustrating process, I am pleased (and relieved!) to announce that a collection of essays on the films and television work of Shane Meadows (edited by Martin Fradley, Sarah Godfrey and Mel Williams) will be published next year by Edinburgh University Press. I will confirm full details of the final title, contents etc in due course.
Also due out next year will be a special issue of the 'Journal of British Cinema and Television' dedicated to Shane's career. Again, watch this space for full details.
Cheers!

Congratulations Martin, Sarah, Mel. Edinburgh University Press-splendid. Good news on the SI too, really looking forward to reading it And great that Shane is getting this kind of recognition-I'm sure he prefers the BAFTA kind, but it's a particular kind of recognition; important and overdue imho

Yep, as soon as we have firm details they'll be on here. Will get a pdf image of the cover image for both to you as and when we have them. The book will only be available in (pricey) hardback initially, with a more affordable paperback version proposed for publication in 2014.
The journal will also be available to buy for completists (it's also published by EUP): a single issue seems to retail at £17. Unless you have money to burn, I would advise checking to see if your nearest University subscribes to it as part of their periodical collection and go by and browse/photocopy. However, I'm sure I can get a gratis copy in some form to Dave at the good ship shanemeadows.co.uk when it finally comes out...

Congrats! That's great news. A big empty hole in British film literature is about to be filled.

They seem confident that they'll be publishing a more affordable paperback version in 2014. Until then, my advice is to wait until the woefully recession-unfriendly hardback lands on the shelves at your local Waterstones and 'liberate' (read: half-inch) the fucker.

The spirit of Jumbo lives! Good to hear that-there's a market for this outside Uni-library world

Indeed. As such, I suspect said tome way well get 'liberated' from various library shelves, too...

That's fantastic, well done you. Typical that my dissertation is due a week before release of the book but can't wait to get a copy for a good read!

Hello Shauni-welcome.
As far as I can see the SI will be published in 2013. This likely means that the articles have beeb submitted already. Maybe Martin (thegooddoctor) can send you copies and you can reference them as 'forthcoming' ? Anyway, I would advise you to send him a pm.
All the best with your work.
