Just read the sad news on Gavin's Facebook. Such a shock when someone so young passes. A truly underrated talent. I wish to pass my condolences to Gavin's family.

Me too, gutted. Its ironic that I watched the living room documentary just this morning. RIP Gavin, a truly talented individual. Thoughts go out to his family and friends. RIP Gavin. I was lucky enough to exchange a few emails with him in the past and always appeared to be a top bloke.

Only just saw this on Twitter, and couldn't work out if it was true or not!
Terrible news. Don't think I even knew there was an official Gavin Clark Facebook page. I'll go check it out now.

The same as yourself, just was going to watch The Living Room documentary on Youtube and was reading the comments below saying Gavin passed away. Saw him and Shane in Dublin, when he played a gig and the documentary was shown. Such sad news to hear as I think he was sadly neglected artist but was loved by many who did hear him through Shane's work. RIP Gavin.

My favourite musician in the whole world, there's never been anyone to touch him. More importantly, a beautiful and complex human being, something I tried to capture in the few portraits I took of Gav. I absolutely loved him. Numb.
I've just sent off a testimonial piece to The Guardian. If they don't publish it then I'll post it on my blog and post the link here in a few days.
Heartbroken.

So gutted about this, what a true talent, a wonderful soul and a real unsung hero. Not sure of the circumstances but regardless of the cause the loss is the same. even more chilling this should happen just as the Living Room doc surfaces. judecalverttoulmin I remember us sitting in the Union Chapel in islington before Christmas on year watching him from about 5 feet away performing the live Score to Somers Town. What a magical night that was. I hope his unreleased music surfaces soon as for his music to get lost in time would be almost as big a tragedy.

Still in shock after hearing this tragic news yesterday. I had the pleasure of meeting Gavin on several occasions, the last of which was in Dublin last summer. I was amazed that he remembered me from attending some of the Clayhill gigs and even more surprised when he said he'd seen me in Made Of Stone. He made up a song on-the-fly during the gig about me travelling from Chester to Dublin, invited me backstage, gave me some hand signed lyrics, and wrote a poem for my girlfriend. He then presented me with a pair of shoes that he'd been given by the sponsor of the gig - Quite a surreal moment. Gavin made the whole experience very special and memorable. My thoughts go out to Gavin's friends and family. He was a gentle, kind, talented individual who touched the hearts of many people with his beautiful music. RIP Gavin.

Horrible news. I met Gav in 2008 and he ended up coming to stay with me to work on an album. I met his family and although the record never got fully finished for various reasons (I still have the sessions) it is some of the best music I ever worked on. We lost touch for a while but he got back in touch a few months ago and seemed to be doing OK.
Without really trying, he taught me a huge amount about songwriting and I'd been a fan since I first heard Sunhouse back in 1998.
A lovely guy who should have been far better known for his huge talent. Really just such grim and shocking news.

Crushed. I had the honour of meeting him twice. The first time briefly at a Clayhill gig, he had tonsillitis (King Tuts Glaasgow), myself & my husband gushed a while & he was really tolerant! The second time we actually got invited into the 'green room' (Barfly Glasgow) as my husband was missing an ep from his collection & had approached him upstairs about it. He didn't return as he forgot so my other half went to ask him again...we got invited in for a beer (for us not him) & chat. He was the loveliest, most genuine & humble man. Before he left he shook my husbands hand & gave me a kiss on the cheek. We often talk of this night & how lucky we were, I treasure the memory.
