Once again, some music news for possibly deadmansrockports interest only! ;D Gradually becoming one of my favourite albums ever, Between the Buried and Me's album Colors has now been released as a live version with bonus DVD: www.amazon.co.uk/Colors-Live-Between-Buried-Me/dp/B001ET8GNY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1224006663&sr=8-1I'll be getting my teeth into that one! The immense compositions on Colors took me a good few months to get to grips with, so it will be great to see a making of video, and also to re-live seeing them live (which I did at the beginning of the year). Also Mr DeadMansRockports... did you know that The Dillinger Escape Plan are re-issuing the Under the Running Board EP with bonus live tracks? Well they are... it also includes a brilliant cover of Black Sabbath's Paranoid. They've livened up that tired old metal a treat and given it a brilliant swinging interlude. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wLEJVS-U98s

Naughty boy... taking the mick out of slow-learners! Metal scares me Here you go Mr Hyde, Between the Buried and Me's cover version on Geek USA. It's pretty faithful to the original and not metalled up at all. mog.com/rider/blog/113269 (Click the little red play button) It was on their album called The Anatomy Of which is all cover versions of songs from a wide array of their favourite musical artists. Between the Buried and Me are talented metallers who are influenced by all kinds of music. They're not your usual bog-standard metal chumps.

Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake This Morning Only just getting into this... only other thing i've heard is the Every Day and Every Night EP. Got a few more albums. Enjoying "Old Soul Song (For The New World Order)" and "First Day Of My Life" at the moment.
Coheed & Cambria - Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume 1: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Mad Wow! Welcome Home is one of the best songs i've ever heard. While initially annoyed the rest never got better, it soon became clear that the rest is all nearly just as good. Some excellent songs, not one bit I don't enjoy. Takes a while to get into but that makes it an even greater listen, every time you do there's more. Epic. Check it out.
