I voted for mary as the world of prostitution throws up so many stories, individuals and doesn't have to be as bleak as it sounds. I have known prostitutes whom love what they do,get paid well for it and have some great stories. On the flip side of that of course there are the prostitutes who do it beacuse they are either Addicted to smack or whatever, are in control of a pimp or arejust so broke they are forced to do it.
But as i say, it throws up many angles for me.I can just hear the opening song 'Lola, la la la la lola.'
Peace
Sorry had to edit, i put one too few La's. Ta

I voted for Sawnoff, mainly because heist movies are fucking cool! Is it gonna feature a russian Mob guy called Sergei "Sawnoff" Zhukovsky who's weapon of choice is a sawn off shot gun? Sergei played in goal for Dynamo Zagreb in the mid 1980's but was banned for life in a gambling bust, along with Bruce Grobbelar, and ended up as a driver for "big" tony Macvie, the gentle giant, who had a club foot and an oedipus complex. Tony, once described by the Observer as "like Reggie and Ronnie rolled into one", was addicted to diet irn bru and werthers originals....

I voted for 'Sawnoff'.
My main reasons are that Shane Meadows is one of my all-time favourite directors and Reservoir Dogs is one of my all-time favourite films and the thought of Shane working in that genre, doing something that may even have a slight similarity to RD, is exciting.
Could you imagine the scenes and the dialogue that this potential film could present you with? Fuc*ing hell!

I voted for the biography of Bartley Gorman, my nana knew him very well, and I understand from reading bits on the website, so did Shane.
I was there at the funeral of Bartley Gorman, and anyone else who was there would know the impact on how many lives Bartley touched as the village he was buried in was gridlocked right until late at night, people travelled from miles to pay their last respect for him.
To see his biography on the big screen would not only be amazing for the local people who knew him or of him, but it would open the eyes of those who havent heard of this legend before.

I lived in Leicester for 10 years and I think you should shoot something about the Braunstone estate in Leicester. If you could create something positive about it then I think that would be a triumph. I think there is potentially alot of things you could focus on there. Ignore 'The Girl With Brains In Her Feet' already being shot there as there are a million stories to be had there I think and loads of angles you could go at your idea from. Ironically I think that film reminds me (maybe in a superficial way though) of 'Romeo Brass' but it is a girl's story rather than a boy's. Shoot whatever idea you want sunshine. On a personal note I wouldn't go and watch one about prostitution as I think it would be really depressing and I think it would put me off sex.

I have gone for Mary because it could be shot on lcoation around Mapperley Park and Shane could come round to my house for tea. Hopefully this 'meeting a hero' experience wouldn't be as disappointing as when Billy Bremner told me to "Shut up, and b*gg*r" off when I asked him for his autograph all those years ago.

JESUS! "the Offence" and "Jacobs Ladder" were both astounding films. I´m still left speechless to this day that Adrian Lyne directed the masterpiece that was "Jacob´s ladder". It had the twisty shaky head thing in long before marylin mason ever thought of wearing eye-liner infront of his parents and an astounding performance from Tim Robbins. I also really enjoyed the sample plonked in UNKLE´s "rabbit in your headlights". Luis "the angel" was a welcome break in that one and Danny Aiello would hold his own with Peter Falk and Christoper Walken if it ever came to a punch up for the title of "best angel in hollywood".
On a personal note, I have to lose my beard for the abundance of comments referring to me as "little jesus". There´s nowt little about us like.

The beauty about shanes movies is how we all know someone like one of the characters. However i dont know any gypsies. But maybe one day I will.

I voted for King of The Gypsies - after seeing the South Bank Show the other night, and finding out the story behind it, I think it could be a crackin film!
Went to see This is England on Friday night and absolutely love it!
