Excellent stuff. I was a wee bit worried it was just going to focus on the messages of TIE rather than Meadows work in general, but it turned out really well.

Quality show, was'nt planning on wathching it but so glad i caught it, was thinking about going to see This is England before but after watching this show i will definitely be going to the cinema to see this fantastic looking film! As an old resident of Saint anns in Nott's it should be a nostalgic trip as i recall my time there dodging hoodies on my way to the shop & getting robbed by smack head's, Ah the memories. Great site too.

Thought I'd add myself to this list and say how much I enjoyed the south bank show last night.....
Must admit there was a lot of stuff on there that I didn't know, such as the Susan Maxwell story......thought it featured a good mix of the new film, and shane's life and works....great to hear him talk about the Bartley Gorman project aswell......I for one hope you get the backing you need mate and tell the story as it obviously means a lot to you and it needs someone like you to do it justice....Uttoxeter's proud of you mate....

wish melvyn bragg would blow his nose though.....

Great Show. I think someone should make the T-shirt for Shane.
"I am Shane Meadows, Nottingham's premiere film maker, please do not harm me."
on the back: "Take the girls first" ;D
Awesome show, nice to see Fraser,Mark Herbert and Paddy on there, Where was Louise??
Loved seeing the Bartley footage, thats something I've never got to see.
Nice one Mr Bragg, good show Shane!
Let us know when the podcast is online.

Hi I missed the South Bank Show last night & wondered if anyone has recorded it please? If anyone has a copy that they could put onto a disc for me, I'd be grateful. I'm gutted that I missed it & have contacted ITV to see if it's going to be repeated, but it doesn't look like it. I would love to watch it & would happily pay for the disc & postage. Please help! Many thanks Cheryl

They said on ITV last night that an edited version of the show would appear on their website to download.....
Not quite as good as the original but better than nowt I suppose.....

Great stuff. I thoguht they showed lots of crucial scenes from the film though, or was that just me? Still I suppose that would make people want to watch it more.
That Bartley Gorman documentary did that ever come out on anything?

I liked how it gave a summary of each of Shane's films, rather than just TIE. I think they should still make the short about the bloke that dressed up as a ninja and nicked fags from kids' mouths.

I was put off by Melvin Bragg's rather large hair.

I loved the whole show, it was excellent. Truely inspiring, learnt a lot of stuff. So much stuff in there i never knew about as well which is great.
I was ind of glad i'd seen all shane's films though (bar small time, can't wait for DVD release!) Because it kind of slightly spoiled the films.
I like how they only touched on OUATIM because we've all heard that spoke about a lot before. It was nice to hear more about how shane started and all. Excellent.
I've got the podcast subscription on my iTunes, there doesn't seem to be a shane meadows one there yet, might be up soon.
