Though it was worth mentioning that now is obviously a good time for everyone to start keeping an eye (and an ear) out for any mentions of This Is England in the media. I know that everyone is on the case anyway, but no harm in bringing it up I thought. It is genuinely great that so many members of the site are spotting stuff and posting links, or uploading videos. This site has definitely become a real team endeavour! There's been loads of stuff that has been news-worthy brought to my attention by members of the forum. Stuff that could have otherwise easily bypassed myself and the site's news section on the home page! Anyway.... here's a short 50 second MP3 file from a recent Radio One programme taking a look at forthcoming films of 2007. Most of the programme was concerned with big Hollywood fare, but fantastically, This Is England got a great mention. Big thanks to Chanel who pointed out that this had appeared on Radio One. The first voice in the clip is George Gant(?) the entertainment editor of Heat Magazine, and the second voice is Andy Lowe the editor of Total Film. It's got to be good news that the Heat Magazine bloke loves TIE because imagine how big it's easily influenced readership is! www.auat24.dsl.pipex.com/website2/clips/r1tie.mp3

Not being a massive fan of Radio I'll try my best.
I'm sure TIE will get some rave reviews closer to release date. The ad on Film4 is getting everyone's tongues wagging, and will be sure to post up whatever I hear regarding TIE or Shane Meadows.
All the best.

Huh! I'm well pissed off. Wrote a reader's review of TIE on the NYTimes page. Was there for a while; now it's disappeared and, to add insult, there's no longer an option to write a review on the TIE page. Oh well, what do you expect from a nation so culturally deprived/depraved that they don't know a Ben Sherman from a Ben Davis and are the only people on the planet who don't 'get' football- f*ckin' heathens. We'll just have keep tryin' I suppose......
Seriously, I think TIE is going to be the 'break through' film (as in finally see critical acclaim translated into box office receipts). The political theme combined with the appeal of '80s nostalgia will do it I think (and hope).
