Thanks for the update, excellent news re TIE the series. 'It's not even remotely like anything else I've done to date.' Tell us more... Shane Meadows in space? Shane Meadows does a family movie? I'm afraid I can't really go into to much detail as we haven't got the rights yet and I don't want to jinx myself (King of the Gypsies went tits up after we went public) before we have it in the bag. What I can say at this stage is that if you thought Dead Mans Shoes was scary, then you'll need counseling after this one!

> Children are like Jack Fulton's special offers. Once they're gone, they're gone. They are much more important than work. Good on you that you've been at home to help the missus and bond with the bairn. ) I wouldn't have missed it for the world!

Wow sounds exciting stuff.
Congratulations on your little boy too Shane, and your right work does now take second place. We all make sacrifices for family, for example I'm halfway through watching "In Bruges" and have had to pause it so my girlfriend can watch Waterloo Road... now thats sacrifice!

I know what your saying bud. I've just paused Celeb Big Bro so the mrs can make up a bottle.
Mind you saying that, I actually like pausing programmes on Sky+ cuz I can fly thru the adverts with the spare time I have in the 'pause' juice bag, so that's probably not the best example.
To be honest she is the one doing all the sacrificing, cuz making films is a piece of piss compared to looking after a baby 24/7. Did you know that they poo and wee nearly all the time and they have to eat 35 times a day. Even I don't have that many meals!

Could be worse. I'm looking after a recently blinded cat who now bumps into things and has to be coaxed around the house by sound. Plus the younger cat is now seizing the opportunity to erm... steal his oats.
Plus the other day I had to stop him walking off my knee into certain death. Well, a 3 foot drop but he's not to know that.

Excellent stuff Shane - and all the very best to the babby Junior - nice one! Me and Mrs. Chewie can't have kids (no this isn't an 'aaw poor me comment lol but we have a new niece who's about 4 months old - and we're going to be godparents which is excellent - we see a lot of her and her elder sis and love every minute of it! Never used be *rsed about kids - thought they did nowt but gurgle and look like Mel Smith... but I've been educated! Also - shame re: KOTG, but great news re: the other projects... I'm also very much looking forward to seeing SOMERS TOWN on 8th Feb... a birthday present off the missus - I didn't get chance to see it when released and have been dying to see - but as it's a 'pressie' I'll have to wait. It'll do for me dude - pizza, pop and a fillum I'v been after seeing - round up my birthday nicely! All the best Shane - and my regards to missus and young un also. Neil.

Hahah .. oh god ... I remember bringing Hannah home from the Hospital and Mike went to change her and she peed on him .. she was also into the projectile vomiting thing, which went down well at parties!
Have fun Shane .. cos they don't stay little for long.
Hmm .. more disturbing than Dead Man's Shoes .. I'm intrigued.

they poo and wee nearly all the time and they have to eat 35 times a day. Sounds like my lad and he's in his twenties. Children are like Jack Fulton's special offers. Once they're gone, they're gone. How do you get rid of 'em Congratulations again Shane. Sounds like you're having a great time despite all the hassle over KoTG.

Aye, life is Good. Bafta and Baby in the same year is about as good as it get's. Didn't think I could top winning that bafta but Little Arthur has given me more joy than a million of them babies ever could.

Looks like another busy year, shame about KOTG, though now intrigued about the secret project, i like the sound of it, leaving us in suspense like that haha, be following this one!! Well done on the Bafta, and congratulations on the birth of your son Shane, who knows he may become a filmaker when he grows up just like his dad!! Your so right theres no feeling in the world than being a father, treasure all the momments cos they grow up so quick, seems like yesterday when my son was born, and now hes asking me for pocket money and money for a camping trip haha. All the best with the new year hope all your plans work out.
