p.s I love the one liners from Shimmy. This is the understated comedy that really works whereas I think the bully character is verging on farce. Like when he called "halt" to his gang on their bikes...ridiculous

Kezz did have a few lines in TIE (underpass, hunting and 'serpent from the bible' scenes).
Well we'll see how it goes as the story develops. Roll on ten o'clock!

Trev for the win!
What an ace poem that was. I could read that three times! ;D
I just remembered another nit-picking bit I wasn't keen on in episode one... When Trudy mentions Woody's wide feet, I thought the amount of laughter and the speed at which it occurred felt a bit much. The laughter seemed to happen before the comment about the feet really had time to register I thought. Plus, I guess I don't actually find the idea of wide feet to be particularly hilarious.
Episode 2 must be the one in which Trev does her speech.

Danielle Watson and Chanelle Creswell are in a very funny extra on the TIE DVD so I do know what Trev sounds like. ;D Even though... I'll have everything crossed for a line from those pursed lips tonight.

Yes will she speak? I hope so. Its a bit strange, it was good to see the other lass have a bit of talky time.
I agree with a few of the comments. There are flaws but so what? Shane Meadows' own post earlier shows the difficulty in film making. That said I do think there are moments where things are a bit too much (the two full SPX tracksuits in Romeo Brass etc, bit silly) There can be an amateur feel to it at times, it usually works out fine when you've got someone like Bob Hoskins in the main role and great support from the likes of Bruce Jones and Frank Harper as with 24-7. Or more recently with This is England the film. You've got a tremendous debut role from a 12 year old in the central role and a heavyweight performance from Stephen Graham so the support/background cast aren't main players. That was the difference with the first episode, the usual background cast had a lot more to do and it wasn't amazing at times. The bully seems to be getting a hard time, whilst he was way OTT and it didn't fit at times it did give me a laugh. I sometimes think the borderline slapstick comedy takes away from Shane's realism film making. I don't want to be too harsh but some of the acting was a bit ropey, no offence meant but Gadge comes across as camp as Kenneth Williams eating a lolly, the others mentioned I'd agree on. One gripe is the Banjo character and Meggy too, they were horrible racist bigots in the film, I recall Banjo holding Shaun down as Combo beats the piss out of Milky in the film if I remember right. Now them two are like a funny double act of sorts and why are they friends with them? Bit puzzling? I know over the years things change, like a few of the films characters are absent, Harvey who wasn't connected to the main group (I don't like gang) is now, things like that are right, it happens, Shaun has detached himself, that's all good. My main gripe overall is the title and the Quadrophenia style publicity. It opened up Shane's films to the mainstream which is all good but with that comes dickhead comments and people who miss the point because they were expecting something else. I think the title and style would've been better as something like 'Shauns Shoes' or Once Upon a time in '82 (86, 90 etc) I've seen some comments where people were expecting a definitive skinhead film, it's not the case, obviously.
I've been a Shane Meadows fan from the early days as a dozen or more on here have too I'm sure. I watched 24-7 and A Room for Romeo Brass recommended it to anyone who'd listen. I couldn't get anyone to watch them at first. (they all love them now of course) I plugged Dead Mans Shoes like mad and helped make it become the cult it is today in my circle and amongst my peers. It makes me laugh when some people criticise them and others pretend to be ardent fans now, but that's a minor gripe.
I love his work regardless of flaws, he's like the middle modern ground between Alan Clarke, Ken Loach and Mike Leigh, that's the best praise I could give him. I may have had a little rant there, but I'm looking right forward to episode 2 and I don't watch much "English Television". Red Riding was probably the last thing I got excited about.
Also according to that credits link with the Soundtrack it lists The The's This is the Day in Ep 1. I love that song and don't recall it at all?

Trev spoke! hey said "Hiii" She had another line too! Couldn't quite hear what it was though... Blimey, well that episode had a lot of sex! Filthy! Thought it was a good episode. Highlights: Sherbert Gadget's story McClure's performance, AGAIN. Shaun's story Complaints? I didn't like how some of it was shot. Gadget's POV shot was awful. Harvey's abusive dad was really rather slight, not sure it needed to be included, unless it's a set up for later on. There was a little too much comedy at the start, the balance wasn't quite right.

All I can say is - powerful stuff - PROPER drama! Laughing at one point and felt like crying at another... the ruddy music helps with the latter - really sets the scene and the mood (as with the strong piano-themed music in TIE itself. Not much I look forward to seeing on television, but I'm being sincere when I say that I really am looking forward to next week's. If I can just pick 'one thing' to comment on - the Mini-Me Meggy!!! Quality!!!

Trev spoke! hey said "Hiii" Ha ha, Gadge has just tweeted "Currently naked on national TV" ha ha. Trev spoke again! "About fucking time!" How ironic! We need a Trev fan-club. I'd sign up. I reckon she's the coolest! Right, episode 2... aka The Musical Beds edition. I have to say that I was not enjoying the first half at all. It was all 'antics' and not much else. I was wondering whether it was going to be worth sitting through it if it was all going to be like that. Thank goodness for the second half... well I think it was after the third ad break. At last, the drama that I had been craving! Holy heck... Thommo Turgoose took the roof off that confrontation scene with his mum in the bedroom. Stunning performance. Vicky McClure is awesome too... seemingly effortless... which is surely a scene of much talent! Some horrible looking stories on the way then it seems. I guess it sounds odd to say I'm looking forward to them, but I am, especially if it means less of the mallarkey (which to me feels a bit aimless in the series). A big shout out to Michael Socha. I've just noticed he is an acting genius. Here's a petty issue.. or is it. Was it necessary to have Lol topless a couple of times? It's not like the production felt the need to show Milky's cock as well was it. Maybe Gadget's arse was the balancing factor? Speaking of Gadget, his storming out of the party was brilliant. A properly innefectual trashing and storm-out! So, that was Combo at the end?

I was Milky again surely? Doesn't combo return with hair in one of the trailers? I was watching online, so not sure I had the best visual detail to go on. I was going by the car.
