That is some extreme turnaround in behaviour. I wonder what sparked it?

That is some extreme turnaround in behaviour. I wonder what sparked it? That bastard Jack Thorne obviously slipped Medders some pills off of the set of "Skins"; Shane went MDMA MENTAL and forgot everything that happened in "TiE" and reinvented all the 'orrible characters as likeable blokes. This will all link neatly into "TiE 1990" where Meggy & Banjo form Uttoxeter's answer to Happy Mondays, start wearing massive baggy clothes, and put the "E" in the E. Midlands. Obvious, really.

To be fair, whilst no longer racist, Meggy and Banjo are still hardly the most well-adjusted of middle-aged men, are they?

The thing people are forgetting about when Milky gets pummelled is that they are all stoned on cannabis, one minute Banjo is laughing, the next he says "we want out of it"...
The point being that drugs make people unpredictable and indecisive.
PS. Anyone else recognize Combo's new cellmate?!

Anyone else recognize Combo's new cellmate?! actually if you read this thread you will realise that he says the exact opposite "i want in on this" and no offence mate but since when did smoking weed make people unpredictable? you can predict that if you are high on dope you cant be arsed to do anything and you get hungry

Cannabis has been proven to push schizophrenics over the edge, Combo is hardly the most mentally stable of people is he?
I'm pretty sure that was one of the underlying themes of that scene. One minute Combo was shaking hands with milky and all was well... Then he flipped!
As you say some people just chill out and get the munchies...
Some don't!
As for Banjo "wanting in on this" his body language says the complete opposite to me...

@ Delarge...
Rude? How?!
Just watched the scene again, but I don't have subtitles, perhaps you could post a screenshot showing us the subs.
Perhaps your interpretation of that scene was Combo, Meggy and Banjo luring Milky round purposely to do him over, but I never seen it as that, to me it was a mentally unbalanced individual losing the plot on drugs...

Rude because what was said was already posted in this thread. I even double checked with subtitles. Read the full thread it's covered!

@ Delarge... to me it was a mentally unbalanced individual losing the plot on drugs... i really dont think the drugs were a real factor to be honest but, the rest of that quote i would say is spot on. the way i saw it the real trigger was an enraged jealousy at milky's large and close family. everything was fine till milky said how it was at xmas at his house. milky had everything that combo never and he was black. for a mentally unstable racist like combo that was a good enough reason to lose the plot.

Yeah, I've read the full thread and I know where you are coming from, it puzzled me as to why they were in the same social circle as Milky.
But for the same reasons why is Gadge?

I dont think it deserves a whole thread on its own so ill just ask it here as it sort of fits in with the whole banjo + meggy issue. But what happened to pukey from the film, he was a part of the gang then and i cant remember a time where his whereabouts was explained. I dont feel the series suffered from his loss as it was amazing, but at first i thought that the new group member who was a bully from the movie was pukey.

I just dont think that drugs was an issue in that scene, the weed was only there to bring everybody together and be having a good time so that when combo went mental it was more shocking. Combo is just mental full stop. ;D

I'm gonna throw the cat amongst the pidgeons now, seeing as this is an anti-Banjo thread...
Which of Combos victims deserves the most pity?
Milky who could see what was coming and could have defended himself but instead actively goaded and smirked at Combo.
Or Banjo who was twatted out of the blue with a bottle?
To be honest after watching TiE '86 I think Milky's a sneaky 2-faced cunt!
