Got to be Dead Mans Shoes. I'll admit its the only film I can remember that has caused a bit of the old sissy moisture to trickle out an eye.
*SPOILER* The scene where Anthony is buried and Richard remains by the grave was inspired. Quite a low key moment but harrowing for the understanding that Richard knew he had let his brother down. At least that what I took from it.

Hey welcome to the Optimus79! Good to have you onboard.
You may have noticed that I have added a spoiler warning to your post above. It's always a possibility that people who have yet to see Dead Man's Shoes could stumble across such comments and have the film slightly spoilt for them.

i've chosen romeo brass, fantastic film that i can watch any time. i chose this mainly as i've never seen a better debut performance than that of paddy in this film. truly amazing talent that has thankfully gone on to show us more and more.
time to make another film with shane i think...

Unfotunatley I didn't get to see Dead Mans Shoes yet, having trouble getting hands on any of Shanes movies here in Ceska Republika, but my vote goes for Romeo.

i voted for 24/7 as it was the first shane meadows film i saw and got me hooked, watching it as a 16/17 year old (and one who hadn't hardly watched any black and white films that were modern) it just blew me away, visually and the content, i could relate to the story and i could relate to all the characters and had something in common with them, i knew someone similar to darcy and at the same time admired and felt sorry for the character, also the scenes were shot exquisitively (spelling?) unlike anything i had seen before! Not saying the other films aren't just as good its just that would be the film that strikes the chord for me the most

But now... i don't even know i think TIE is my fave for now, but it will change! ha ha.

I love dms, but it has to be a room for romeo brass. Far too many brilliant observations of peoples habits and eccentricities that other directors choose to ignore over sex and violence. And everyone in it sounds like brian clough, which can't be bad!!!
