Hoping to catch Mary and Max in Birmingham on Wednesday (work permitting). Seem to be quite a few of these animation for adults films around lately-really liked the trailer for this:
Hope it lives up to the promise.

YES! Agreed. Haven't watched the trailer... is it spoilerish? I guess that's tough to tell not having seen the film! But you know what I mean. The trailer for Moon was excellent.. had me hooked, and didn't spoil nothing. Black Swan. Can't believe Mary & Max is only just appearing in cinemas.. we screened it at the Cambridge Film Festival LAST year. I saw a bit of it (had no time to see all) it was great! Wanna see the rest. Dark Knight Rising.. even though the name sucks a bit. Why didn't they call it "The Caped Crusader" ??

I avoided it and then watched it after I'd seen the film

Yes, The Moon trailer did kind of give away a major point of the film which would have been far better to experience for the first time when watching the film.
The Source Code trailer does give away the the premise in a similar way I guess. Judging from the trailer, the beginning of the film will not explain what is going on, so finding out will be a surprise. If you've seen the trailer, it won't be a surprise.
Has anyone else seen this weird unexplained video from Neil 'District 9' Blomkamp? Just a minute long, and odd. Rumours are that it maybe a teaser thingy for a new film from him:

But... yeah it would have been better had I not seen the trailer. Will avoid this Source Code trailer. Unless I have to project it from 35mm at work That Blomkamp teaser is awesome! Looks like it was shit on a mobile phone. Cool!

RED STATE It's Kevin Smith's new film. I've heard it mentioned a lot, but that's because I listen to quite a few of the podcasts that come out of Kevin Smith's 'Smodcast' network. I had heard it was going to be a horror film, so that really interested me because it would be a real change to what Smith has always done until now. I then heard Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko, Southland Tales) saying that he saw the film, and it is the greatest reinvention and redirection in a film makers career he has ever seen. Now there's a teaser trailer, and it does indeed look like it could be something great. You would never guess it was a Kevin Smith film unless someone told you.... oh, I just did! "A group of misfits encounter fundamentalism gone to the extreme in Middle America. " So, it's a horror film without any fantastical elements (well, as far as I know), and that can often be the most disturbing of all horror if done well. Unsurprisingly, that religious loon Fred Phelps inspired the Smith's script. Trailer: www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi1235524377/Thank God! A reason to like a Kevin Smith film again after the gradual decline in quality his films seem to have gone through over the years.

Looks like 2011 is going to be a pretty good year for films-there's five or so out right now that I want to see. Plus....
The trailer to the Coen's remake of True Grit looks promising:
As does the trailer for Malick's Tree of Life:

Found footage style horror alert!
I like it when it's done well... [REC].... and hate it when done badly.... Diary of the Dead.
Nice new setting and theme for the found footage style too.
Such a coincidence that I have been watching the NASA's Greatest Missions documentary box set recently and learned that Apollo 17 was the last mission to the moon....
... or was it? ;D
Apollo 18

I just stumbled upon this trailer for a Norwegian horror film called The Troll Hunter!
It looks like great fun!
Says it was uploaded Jan 2010 so maybe it's already on DVD in the UK... I must check!
