Quite a nice interview is that! Very nice read "Cynthia was going to be a much more prominent character, there was going to be a rape scene between her and Combo, there wasn’t any of the stuff involving Milky but slowly that began to make more sense" Wow, I didn't know that Not read the interview yet... but thanks for posting it Mozzer. Great to get something different. Most of the articles we keep finding do tend to overlap with similar information. That was going to be in the film? Holy fook! How messed up would Shaun and Cynthia have been after that! Glad that wasn't in it. I think I read in there, that it could have become a very different film I am too glad that it wasn't in the film

zotar - that's an interesting and for me, surprsing, response. I've only seen a photo and brief clips of Combo in TIE '86. I thought he looked considerably less menacing than in the film. His appearance looked quite forlorn and resigned, older and more mature. What I liked was he seemed to have gone for a 70s dress style with the large collared leather jacket. Obviously he has hair in '86 too and either Combo is naturally dark haired or has discovered Just for Men or Grecian hair dyes whilst in prison, or living rough. He looks sad and sort of vulnerable to me and this nature of his character, shown in the original film as well to good effect, I hope is shown in the eps he is in. I mean, some people have commented that episode 1 was fairly light-hearted in parts but that's the nature of an on-going story even moreso than in a film. Obviously you had the contrast between some comical things in the film, but in the episode so far you had Gadget seemingly getting the attentions of a curvy older woman, wheelchair races (Clifton ones?) and my favourite part, the motorbike gang - all were pretty light overall. Which I am glad of, because if this whole show would have progressed like Red Riding, from shadow into the depths of darkness, immersed in misery, it would have been grim stuff. I agree with you too, I was just talking about appearance, not so much the character, maybe that comes with the territory; so to speak. The appearance making the character, perhaps? (IF I'm making sense) He looks very disillusioned, lost and pretty sad as a person. Obviously, we can't really judge until we've seen the episodes etc....as a person, I think he'd have changed a great deal which for a complex character like Combo, could either be good or bad - I don't know if I'm making much sense

I was 14 when I first watched This is England and and I was alright with it. In fact my reaction to the film made me want to watch it again, to concentrate more on the characters than the story But, everyone's different and really, it's your decision. P.S. If it helps, I'm still not "legally" old enough to be watching TIE, let alone '86

I work in Brum-the billboard posters are all along the M38/A38 corridor! ;D I thought I'd seen a lot within about 5 minutes Looks like they're really trying to promote it and it's working. Almost anyone I've spoken to have seen the adverts, the posters etc...

Thanks for the update I am really looking forward to this and I've never felt this way about anything, especially about a TV series! I feel like quite a rebel too! Especially as I'm still not old enough to watch This is England I like how Lol is a lead - I always thought, even in the film, that she was a strong character I have every faith in you and everyone else involved and I know that it's going to be great

I don't know whether anyone else has seen any, but I went into town today (B'ham) and with in about 4 bus stops I saw 3 billboards plastered with the faces of the super duper cast! I am rather excited, to say the least - in fact, it is rather sad! I have been telling everyone about it, and even informed my friend who was sitting next to me on the bus. She asked the ultimate question, which started me off! She went, oooh! what's that about? Of course, I held back with the response I said something like: watch it, it looks absolutely amazing and if the film's anything to go by, it'll be brilliant (even though it's not exactly based on the events of the film!) I am really looking forward to this and I am eagerly anticipating the first episode. Even counting down the days ;D

The advert I saw yesterday wasn't very long - about 10 seconds; if that Well, the one I've seen (I don't know if there are anymore) it's similar to the house party promo I think, because they're outside and they're being filmed Does it make me sad that I knew straight away that the advert was for TIE86 as I recognised the voices...bearing in mind, I wasn't really paying much attention to the telly at the time?! "I think there maybe a couple of slightly different ones though. Banjo getting into a sunbed for one!" I saw the advert yesterday for the first time...I presume that the different snippets are what the adverts are made of because what's in the promo video is not/was not used in the advert I saw yesterday...Either way, it looked great ;D Zoe
