Sweet Maria is my first choice as I would love to see what happens in something that contains the words building site comedy and horror.
King of Gypsies would also be great but winters coming and we need some laughs.

Topic: What would you like me to make next??? The script I've just written, you can see it at www.myspace.com/evansvisual_arts It is called Barstewards. I have a project I want to build a team of writers around. I have a current script that is merely a starting point to work from. The idea is that it is a style of sketch show with a concept that gives it a loose thread that holds it together. The basic concept is that each episode starts at a bar ran by three friends, then though an assortment of random events the tales move away from the pub where the viewers encounter different random scenarios and events each time. Eventually each episode would finish with the chance events finishing back at the bar. The only consistent characters in the series/film would be the three friends who feature at the start and end, and sometimes in between. I wouldn't like to have Lou and Andy style characters being repeated and done to death, though the odd character or familiar event could reoccur now and again

Sweet Maria...not really conforming, would like to see a Bartley Gorman film as I've heard a lot about him and saw him around before he passed on. But besides sounding intruiging, I would love Shane and P.Considine to work together again.
But as mentioned, those deleted scenes in Romeo Brass need seeing!

I have voted for KING OF THE GYPSIES. Awesome story and a real labour of love for Shane. The documentaries you did on him were excellent.
This is a bit left field but how about you doing BOUNCER the geoff thompson biography with Paddy.
Check out the BAFTA winning short that Paddy is in of the same title.

but all in all anything with paddy c in it would be awfully swell. Agreed I think I'll have to follow the majority and vote for Sweet Maria, sounds intriguing!! ;D

Are people allowed to steal the ideas that you don't use?

I read that bartley gorman book 'king of the gypsies' completely at random- a picked it up when i was at a lose end job- and was totally gripped- read it in one... when i discovered there was a chance you might be making a film of the man i was ecstatic... the bull punch on screen... film couldn't get much better than that. scorcese's depictions of realistic violence would be shot to pieces if you got to grips with that guys life. what a star he was. i'm going to work out a way of fixing this vote

Shane is mates with these guys and these done music for some of his other films too. the last scene witht the piano is an Aphex Twin song called "Nanou 2" if you were interested in that. Hope this kinda answers your question
