My Favourite Character & Actor is possibly Joe Gilgun! OK He doesn't deliver a Performance like Tommo & Ste do.. But he generally makes me laugh for hours, even when he's acting.

Haha yeah I always thought Comp looked like an ex football hooligan! (meant as a compliment mate haha)
Hey Jo I didnt get to meet you on tuesday but honestly well done on TIE you where brilliant!
Hey Jill, good to see you there! sorry I didnt get to speak to you more! about the laughter at the cinema, there was genuine scenes that called to be laughed at but yeah a lot of "chuckle" scenes did get laughed at, I suppose just with the good atmosphere in the cinema. The fact that people where laughing just shows how real and powerful the film is. Add to the fact that other scenes are terrifying, like I said elsewhere, the scene where Combo attacks Milky really made me feel sick, the tension was unbearable, we've all been there, was horrible seeing it on screen like that. One of my first experiances of violencewas a boot to the face like in the film, broke my nose and its still slanted to one side to this day in fact! So basically what I'm saying is for a film to make you laugh and terrified while telling its story really is an acheivement and is also what I love about Romeo Brass and Dead Mans Shoes.
I have to agree with you there Dave, Shaun was amazing in it, and that scene where he flipped at Combo was powerful stuff, really did not expect it, we've all been there though when someone says something that really pisses you off and you just lash out, like you cant control it.
I would also liked to have seen this scene where Woody sorts out the bully, I saw some on set footage of it on film 2005 (or 04) with Jonathan Ross (first thing I ever saw of TIE and first I'd heard of it) so I'd really like to see it.

On a personal note, I was surprised/confused by the amount of laughter in the first 20 minutes or so, Not that Shane's film aren't humourous (far from it) but the dialogue just seemed like everday conversation to me (more a chuckle than a laugh?). I know exactly what you mean, I think some people didn't know what to expect from Shane's films maybe? I even noticed a few titters at some of the really nasty stuff, which disturbed me a little bit. Must be a London thing.

The audiences in central London are a strange mob – there tends to be a lot of laughter derived from things that aren't particularly funny but I have to admit, the first 20 mins/half an hour was often (intentionally hilarious). That said, I’ve see respectable films that have caused many to laugh there and it always inspires a "shut the fuck up" reaction from me, even if I don’t always say it… ;D

Well fuck a duck, April can't come soon enough. Now that there's a bit of a Manchester Meadows Massif (MMM), we need to arrange a 'mob viewing' when TIE hits the big screens! And all go down in our faded levis, black bomber jackets and suedeheads. Well, perhaps not the suedeheads

Just wanted to throw some praise in the direction of Stephen Graham. All the performances in the film are good and Thomas Turgoose is amazing, but it was a really touch gig to play such an unsympathetic (to say the least) character and not play him as an entirely one-dimensional personification of evil. Thought the scene in the car after he has been rejected was really raw. Jill

Having only seen him in a couple of films (SNATCH being the one that sticks in my mind), I was really taken by the way in which he tackled Combo - he's a dispicable, pathetic character but one that inspires both anger and pity. Like Jill said, Combo is a character that could have become cartoon-like in a lesser actors hands.

Hey guys sorry i havn't posted here yet! been busy the past few days! I can honestly say tuesday was one of the best nights of my life! thanks to all the forum members, the cast, and anyone there that night, everyone was brilliant! All such nice welcoming, normal people!
Of course i loved all the scenes mentioned above, i'd like to mention a scene i really found great, and very funny - The Shoe Shp Scene!! I thought it was genious, just so natural, and real. Anyone can remember being a kid and wanting something really bad, and the parent suggesting something else (cheaper) and trying to make it sound cool "OOOH.. FROM LONDON!" ha ha i found that scene hilarious.
As for people finding the first 20 mins funny, i know i certainly did! i think the natural sort of conversations were just.. i dunno easy to relate too, and thus funny, i dunno.
Performance-wise, i agree everyone in the film wa superb, tommo, stephen graham (an awesome guy btw, oh and his mum and auntie were lovely too!) shimmy, i also really think Joe Gilum's performance was superb, and he's also an amazing guy, he made me laugh so much that night, he drew a penis on his characters head on the poster! ha ha ha. Thanks to shane as well for being such a great guy, getting those posters for us and that, signing stuff, posing for photos, must be hard work. Thanks to Jo for getting us into the after party! It was awesome! thanks to richk who we had a very interesting chat with.
Thanks to everyone!! As for people being rather drunk, when i left the party.. bout 2.45 i saw i cant remember his name, the guy who played Combo's mate, who came in with the knife? he's also in dead man's shoes, gets killed off first? you know who i mean! anyway he was asleep on a chair at the end, some guys around him looking after him! poor fella. He spoke to us earlier in the night about his cat! he said this: "My cat does a shit, and takes it into our garden and bury's it!" my friend replied "all cats do that" and he replied " NOT WITH A SHOVEL!" was compltely random, but hilarous!
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR AN AMAZING NIGHT!!

Well, where to begin? Everyone I met was fantastic - huge thanks to everyone who came and spoke to the camera, and I'm just sorry that the faffing about with it meant I didn't get the chance to speak much to people. But I do have an idea for another meet-up (more on this later)... Special thanks to Kezz and Gadge for the warm welcome and introductions and stuff, to Comp for the drink (even if it did end up going to Shim rather than me), to Shane for sneaking my mate into the Odeon, and to Jo for getting him a ticket. Everyone was so nice, it was all so surreal. Now onto the film - it was kind of difficult for me to separate the film from the people at first, but the film was so powerful... I know this will sound like blasphemy to some of you, but I think with TIE, Shane has really proven himself to be one of the greatest British film directors of all time. I'd put it up against Alan Clark's stuff without hesitating for a minute. Someone else mentioned it somewhere, but every performance is really spot on, there isn't one that lets the side down. Woody is the most likeable character in all of Shane's films, in my opinion - my only "complaint" in the film is that we don't see much of Woody, Kezz etc after they leave Combo's flat... I know that it's part of the story, but I really liked that version of the gang. Obviously, the film couldn't just be about Shaun and the gang having fun, though. My favourite scene, strangely enough, was the scene with Smell and Cynthia - "Does it rhyme?" I'm sorry I didn't get to hang around after the film finished, the guy that was driving wanted to head back - but well done, all who were involved. Superb film, superb night. Thanks to everyone.

Yr all really welcome, all of you. I nearly didn't get in the party myself for helping everyone! The lady on the door nearly booted me out! Rock 'n' roll eh! I also had to leave the pub earlier as no-one would own up to being with Tomo, so i had to tell the screaming barmaid i was his mum, she followed me out with her broomstick and whip. Its ok though, i put a spell on her (nanny mcfee - 'I did Knock' - har har!) Watch this space!!!! Sorry i never got to meet you Hyde, i was so confused. I could not concentrate very well as it was a little bit of a whirlwind, lots going on, but really good fun. Thanks for your nice comments Hyde, everyone, (not sure if you ment me or Joe G about the performance thing, but i reckon u meant both!) I also never met Ryd22 properly. Ar well, next time. I never met Marksherbert? did i??, but saw the most beautiful MissDonk!! what a delightful young lady. Ive got some photo's of the evening, so i will give them to Dave and also some from Rome! I watched the podcast it was good fun! Take care everyone, im getting confused by all the posts, not sure which one to read next so im off out for a bike ride. Enjoy the weekend. Cynth x x
