Just thought it may be a good idea to make a pre-emptive thread for those of us who are watching the film at the London Film Festival.
All discussion of the film from people who have seen the film should be restricted to this thread (perhaps until the film goes on general release).
This thread will remain locked until the 1st November... then we can have a right old 'This Is England' chin-wag!
Looking forward to it!

Now open for business!
Please keep all spoilerific chat confined to this thread.
If you haven't seen This Is England, then I advise you to steer well clear of this thread!

Brilliant idea Dave keeping it all in one place.
Also, I'm amazed the Bifa committee overlooked your "man with back to camera in cafe" performance for the "best supporting actor" award. A real travesty...

The performances in TIE, as Comps said, were all superlative. Especially Tommo's and Stephen Graham's, who seemed to have thrown himself into it head first. It must have been so difficult to get to grips with the nature of some of Combo's scenes in particular.
I reckon visually it is definitely Shane's best film, the photography was really nice, a lot of the shots particularly stood out.
I found it the most moving of all the Meadows films, the optimism at the end is a big contrast to the ending of DMS I thought.
I really liked the last shot, of Tommo looking directly into the camera (which incidentally is different to the ending we first saw), and it got me wondering if this was a direct homage to The 400 Blows or just a coincidence?

I wanna say thanks to all of the cast and crew who were really friendly, and for everyone from the board who were all equally as cool as the next.
Big big thanks to Shane for making us feel welcome and for sorting us the posters out.
Big thanks to Dave too, without whom we wouldn't have been there last night. It's a shame you couldn't go. Next time though you have to.

There weren't any casualties that I saw; no one got too pissed. Virtually the entire cast ofthe film, Shane and Louise were there. We had a nice little piss up in the pub, watched the film and then some of us liggers that were chatting shit outside the cinema ended up getting invited back to the after party.
I didn't take any pics but I know that hyde and Vin did, or was it Ryd? shit maybe I was the most hammered after all...

Which afterparty was this Paul.. because I'm pretty sure over half the people there were absolutly Steamin.. not to mention myself! Had a real bad head this mornin on the journey home.. What more can you say though.. It was a free bar!! Brilliant idea Dave keeping it all in one place. Also, I'm amazed the Bifa committee overlooked your "man with back to camera in cafe" performance for the "best supporting actor" award. A real travesty... Yeah thats the first thing I thought when that scene came on.. "Oh yeah Dave was there then!"
