HUGE SPOILERS!! You shouldn't be looking at this thread anyway!!
All about Milky! First up.. what a nice understated performance from Mr Shim!
Anyway, I've been thinking that Milky sacrifices himself to save Shaun. Sorry if this is blatantly obvious to everyone else! haha. Early in the film, in one of the cafe scenes, Lol brings up the fact that she reckons something is going to kick off, specifically with Milky in mind. Milky has the same inkling, and says he's ready for it when it comes. During the final Milky scene (and leading up to it), I'd have to say that Milky is completely wise to the dangerous situation he is heading into, but he's realised that he can save Shaun. By sacrificing his own safety he knows that he can give Shaun a stark insight into the true nature of Combo and Banjo's potential. Milky is the hero of the film!
Am I very wrong?? ;D

After all, Milky does start smiling as Combo is about to get nasty on him at the end.. Combo even says "Why are you laughing?!"

Wether or not Milky is aware of it, I'd have to agree that he definately does save Tomo.
I liked how Milky just smiles, there really isnt much else you can do in a situation like that.

By the way.... about Woody (again, another top notch performance, really great fun). Combo did time for him. Is it ever mentioned what Woody did? Perhaps he has a dark side? I don't like to think so. No idea what level of crime leads to a three year sentence. If it wasn't mentioned in the film, then I'm sure it was discussed in developing the character and his back story.

HaHa, I remember some nonsence about the two of them trying to steal a Helipcopter! I really can't remember if that was just an idea for a backstory like you say that we came up with in the rehearsal weeks, or If there was actual shooting footage of Woody and Combo telling us (the gang) tht story.
I duno, Gadge can U remember?

awesome, hopefully it will be in the deleted scenes! Its really interesting to find out about back stories to characters.
As for the milky thing, i never even thought about it like that. But now i do, i agree it very much seems like milky is saving shaun. The smiling is superb, very real, as hyde says theres not much else to do in that situation. Excellent acting from shim though, it's a stunning scene.

The scene where the gang are driving back from the meeting and Pukeys character says "Do you really beleive in all that shit?" and Combo stops the car and shouts at him, I thought that scene was brilliant.

I also loved that scene, set up combo's character really well. I also thought who ever played pukey (aplogies for not knowing the name) put in a great performance for that scene. Excellent stuff

One of the things that I think is great about the film is that Shane cast people from different regions. Other folks may have said that you can't cast someone from Manchester and someone from Nottingham and someone from Grimsby etc and put them all in the same gang because of the different accents... But Shane did it, and it fucking worked. The performances were all superb.
